My MCS is hurt...
Thumper's hurt real bad
. Got into an accident about a week ago.
Rear ended someone, going about 35-40...grrr. Insurance estimate is preliminary, as they have to tear off the front pieces to see whats going on with the engine, but they seem to think it will be totalled.
Anyone have similar damage before? Do you think its totalled? Airbag deployed as well. (sidenote: airbags can burn ya like crazy
)
Here are the pics...
:

Broken Engine Mount:

The engine shifted about quite a bit, went back and cracked the coolant reservoir and then forward and is now sandwiched up into the radiator.
Very sad about the whole thing, makes me sick, and was not ready to get rid of it...I loved this little car. I definitely want another MCS though if Thumper's totaled.

I've restored alot of my own cars at a friends bodyshop and I'm sorry to say, I think its toast
. The combination of the cost of repair and the cars age won't add up for the insurance company. If you can afford it, you may wish to buy it back for salvage. But only after a competent bodyman looks at it.

dibs on the wheels!
too soon?
seriously though.....been there before. no fun at all....hopefully, they can either make it good as new, or get you out of it in a way that let's you replace it with a comparable car. best of luck.

Wow, sorry to hear about your accident. Hopefully you'll be up and running soon with the same car or a new one!

Glad to hear you weren't hurt too bad.
I didn't think your car looked too bad, until I saw how the engine was pushed back.
My guess would be they'd total it, but that is just a guess.
Good luck.

Glad you're ok. Our Mini's strive to protect us (I think they like us as much as we like them). It was a selling point for my wife: the '02 Mini outperformed/outprotected the '02 Ford F150 in the frontend crash test by the Insurance Institute! Yay!
ouch
Ouch! Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully something good will come out of this whole thing. When my old car got totaled i ended up with a new Mini. S*** happens. Then you get a Mini! Makes it all better.
Oh, by the way, i recognized your car from LMU. I have the Pepper White with the black wheels. Your car was sick
. May it R.I.P.
