I was coming home from work the other night, after a loooong shift, and parallel parked my car in a really tight spot. Went to leave this morning, to go to work, and there is just about no steering. The wheel is really loose, and the wheels are not responding very well to how the wheel is being turned. Does this sound like I broke a tie rod while parking? Inputs please. I need your help!!!!!
ok, correction. It was dark out this morning, and I was in a rush to get to work and didn't notice until I came back that someone had hit my car last night. They hit the wheel and front driver's side fender. I don't know what broke, but it's definitely not driveable. Dealing with insurance and police now. Give a yay for the start to an excellent week. hah.

Holy crap! That sucks.
Well, mystery solved anyway, and probably good that you weren't in the car when it was hit. Good luck. Sorry about the bummer start to your week.6th Gear

Ugh...that's just sickening.
Good luck...I'm having steering "issues" of a different sort on my '03 right now.
Good luck...I'm having steering "issues" of a different sort on my '03 right now.Yeah, I know. Get this though-The same officer that took my report just towed away a car this morning that was parked in a red zone right down the road from my car. The car had tire damage, and front end damage, and a broken tie rod from, according to her, "hitting a curb." Hah, I think we got her. All she has to do now is admit it, or we go to court. Looks like I won't be racing this weekend though. I'll definitely come down to support though. I'll keep ya'll posted.

that really sucks, but atleast youre okay and you know who did it
Aright, little update on my car situation. Got some not so good news today from the shop and the insurance company. It seems that when this woman hit me, she did quite a number of things. Broke my tie rod, bent and pushed the control arm up into the engine crossmember subframe, and possibly bent it, bent my rim, screwed up my cv joints and bushings, and then whatever else on body damage. The car is going to take ten days minimum to fix and possibly longer if the subframe got damaged. This woman better own up to it, otherwise it's time for court, and I'll go in as hard and fast as possible. Anyway, that's it for now.

Let your insurance handle all of it. They'll take her to court if need be. Knowing who the culprit is makes it a lot easier.
