R50/53 color?
With <anycar> you get it in a color that you like. With a MINI, you get it in a color scheme that looks good on the car. Two years ago I would not have even considered getting one with a white roof because I typically don't like white on <anycar>, and a white roof, in my mind, hearkened back to the '70s POS American land yacht with the vinyl top. But the MINI looks great in indi or red with a white top. The chili red looks the most striking with the white stripes because it is non-metallic, especially with some roof art. Mine will be a little more subdued in indi/white.
Viewing all the great pics on this site makes it even worse, with all the great custom paint and decal jobs. The car seems to yearn for that silly check pattern everywhere--the roof, the upper or lower sides, and even above and behind the headlights or in the bonnet stripes. The Union Jack is great for those who don't want a sunroof, but in considering it as a political symbol when the US's relationship with Europe is at its worst and our relationship with the UK can only get worse, I wouldn't want to give someone an opportunity to take anti-UK sentiment out on my car.
Anyone have a preference between "short" vs. "long" stripes?
