Please don't hurt me! I don't own a Mini, I own a VW. I love the Mini.

I heard that Mini owners (gasp!) hate New Beetles. Please tell me this isn't true? I thought that Mini people and NB people were equally insane about their cars. I smile at all the Minis I see. I wave at all NBs I see. I feel a certain "connection" to the Mini, since we love our cars the same. The two are the most unique cars on the road today. Does this make sense?

Anyway, I was compelled to post after seeing a link regarding vandalism to your beloved Minis. Getting keyed, and (My God!) lit cigarettes(!) being thrown through the sunroof! It made me sick! How dare someone do that to someone who loves their car so much. My Turbo S was recently keyed for the second time, and my thread was where I got this link.

Please, Mini owners, just remember.........Karma, Baby!

It was nice to meet all of you. See you around!

I like the bug..just not as much as the MINI. But yes we both share the fact that we like cars that look different from all the other generic bull. Welcome to MCO!

dnyed,
Before someone yells at you make sure you spell MINI all caps when referring to the new MINI and Mini when you refer to the classics. Thanks and welcome to MCO!

 Personally speaking, I like the new VW - especially the new rag top.

I owned several over the years. I like the new colors they have come out with.  I'm glad to see that people are crossing over from different boards - nice of you to come in and say Hi

Hey welcome to the site. It's always nice to see a person who owns another kind of car, but can also appreciate ours.

The new Beetle has always just been a little too round for my liking, but I wouldn't nearly go so far to say that I hate it in any way. The new convertibles are pretty slick, especially with the top down. And it's whatever works for you....I heard that your car performs well. Have fun with it!

Hey dnyed! Welcome!

I don't know about everyone else but I feel a certain kinship with the v-dub NB. But when I beep and wave, they don't usually wave back. You sound like you would. I think you should own a MINI!

If I could, I would own MINI. My hubby simply doesn't fit in one. He fits in the NB, and has his own. (we have two).

However, if I won the lottery, and could have the collection I dream of, a MINI S would be in my driveway. Along with a NB Convertible, and the new Touareg. I can't help it, I love VWs!

I will continue to wave at MINIs I see, and just maybe someday, one will wave back. It would just make my day!

Thanks for not hurting me!

I've been a big VW fan myself for years...I was looking into a Mk 3 Gti before I discovered the MINI.

Yeah and how big is your husband?

My hubby is 6'4, and 300+. Kinda like a big football player. He looked at the MINI, and, unfortunatley, it just wasn't big enough. That is why we don't have one, and have the second NB instead.

I've had the following large people in my car

6'7" weight unknown
6'4" 200 lbs
6'0" 280 lbs

All fit without a problem. So how big is the hubby?

Hey! I'm not gonna say that I'm an equal fan of the two cars, but I do dig the new Bug. They're fun, and if someone asked me "Hey, do you want my car for free?" I sure as heck wouldn't say no. And, I gotta admit, I like the new convertable ones slightly better than the MINI cabrios. They look better with the top up, though I have to admit that they both look pretty good topless.

And he fits the NB? I'm 6' and 210 and had a problem in the NB.

My hubby has more head room in the NB, than in the 2002 Explorer I got rid of to buy the Turbo S. Who'da thunk it?

BTW, my NB has heated leather, 1.8t 180hp, 6sp, 17" wheels, omg it's so much fun.

Also, to let all of y'all know, (I'm not Texan) at work, I have a NB and a MINI on top of the monitor. I can look at my two favorite cars all day. Of course, my co-workers think I'm nuts.

Do you get that, too?
