R50/53 Anybody have the armrest?
Mine has a padded top, is covered with the same material as the seats and is attached by a cylinder that fits in the rear cup holder, it's narrow enough not to affect the seat adjusters and it is scooped at the front bottom to allow the hand-brake to work. Ron.

GotMini.Com sells an aftermarket armrest (Padded) for the MINI. It retails for $79.95 plus shipping and handling. I haven't ordered it but based on the picture it looks pretty good. They claim that there is no need to drill holes or make modifications to the car when installing it.

It seems to be the best option for us MINI owners as this time since MINI does not offer an armrest neither as std or optional OEM equipment.

So far TVA or Gotmini.com is the only place I've seen the armrest. I was thinking about it and I like the fact that you don't have to drill. The problem that I can see with that is the cup holder. In the car that is the only one that I can really use. The two up front only hold cans, Starbucks or softdrinks in cups will not fit in to the cup holder up front. So I use the one in the center. This is a no win situation.
i have seen a cupholder adapter that fits into the fron cupholders. A movable arm swings out to hold larger cups. I don't remember if I saw this in a "Pep Boys" type store or online, though.

Cooper4us, that is the armrest I am speaking of. I'd like to get one, but gobsmaked brings up a good point regarding the cupholders. And Joshua brings up a good point regarding the seat adjusters (the things are hard enough to work as it is). Perhaps the new armrest has it's own cupholders. Now that would be a great idea.

>>the one you describe, is it the one you made for 8$ or the one on offered on the sites?
The one I made. It holds CDs, keys, Lotto tickets etc.. As I seldom drink in the car, I use the covered cup holder for quarters and change.
