I was looking and thinking son of a B^tch so now I have some very cool scratches and scuff marks . That's what I was thinking why in the hell would I have 8 baskets around my car. I was thinking that it was the little SOB that was rounding them up from the parking lot. I'm still pissed off why do people have to do crap like that just becuase they don't have nice things I'm only 16 with a MCS but I take pride and care of the things my parents buy me unlike other kids my age.

The store that owns the carts could be responsible for the damages. At least in CA they can be. It is their property, so if they don't manage them and they damage your car, it is their fault. I have never filed a claim like this, but I might if I found that many carts around my car!

I was going to but I'd get told nothing could be done becuase no one saw who did it and most likey that it's private property. I have two dents on the passenger side, scuff mark on the driver side light, scratch above the wheel well, and about 3 4" long scratches on my door.

you're only 16?
an awesome car to have when you pretty much just started driving.
i started out with civics.
im 20 now. im payin every penny for my mini.
but if you're tryin to get those scratches out yourself be careful.
if you post in the detailing section a lot of people will help/tell you how to get rid of them. but it's best if either you or someone has experience does it.
best to make it look like it never happened.

I learned about parking at the very end of the lot at a young age...it seems you may learn that too.

yuP. GOTTA employ proper parking maneuvers

park at a curb island where you are protected from two sides

or park way out and leave spots for the "older" generation....

just don't park like those idiots that stradle 3 diagonal lines

I use strategic parking maneuvers... at the back if available, if not available then park between the two most expensive cars you can find...today for me was between a lexus and a mercedes...i figure my odds have to be better than parking between two beaters.

Check the laws in your state and file a claim. I think it's obvious that some jerk surrounded your car with carts on purpose. That the store wasn't collecting them and putting them in their proper place in a timely fashion, could leave them liable for your damages.

That many carts sitting around in the lot for some jerk to play with, means the store wasn't doing their job.

I used to work as a security guard at Target and we had SEVERAL cases like that. The store always paid up because it was always on camera. Go ask if they have a security tape of the specific area in the parking lot. If so you can try and see if they'll help with the cost. the worst they can do is say no.
