Sunroof screen, cover options?

I have an 03 MCS with a sunroof (tinted). I love the sun roof, but I changed jobs about 9 mo ago and went from a covered parking structure to an open parking lot. I would like to replace the sunroof screen with a "solid", non- perforated type screen to protect the interior.
I haven't seen any aftermarket items that would fit the bill.
I don't want to cover the roof with vinyl, when I'm in the car I like the glass top, I just want more protection for the interior when It's sitting. A cover may be a pain. Sometimes I have to take off and and don't want to take a cover on and off.
Any ideas are appreciated.

I know someone is trying to get them made. They apparently had a prototype that worked pretty well; it just sounds like the logistics are being worked out.

Aside from that, the easiest thing to do is take a sunroof measurement (or maybe someone here knows it offhand), and head to Target or Wally World and look for those "spring-open" type sunroof/window shades. I know there is one that fits the MINI sunroof (front and back, just check the sizes). Then just open the mesh "shade", pop the spring-open type in there, and close the mesh shade over it.

I have found the quick solution to hot seats is to flip them forward when I have to leave the car in the sun for a while.

Buy a $7 windshield shade, one of those real lightweight ones. I found one w/silver one side, blue on the other.

Cut to fit both sunroofs large enough so you have to push it a bit to fit in the slots between the headliner and the glass, then pull the sunshade to make sure it stays in place.

Works great! Good luck.

Red

How about the sunroof graphic? The perforated ones cut 65% of in-coming light(add to the amount cut by the tint) but you can still see through them. If you don't want a graphic you can get white or black. I have been thinking about one for a while-I'm thinking a UJ would be fun, and what other car can pull off a UJ on the roof?

Go to your local big discount store. In the auto parts section they sell those pop up silver colored windshield screens. The smallest ones fit quite well in the sunroof holes. Almost a perfect fit and you solve your problem for about $5.

This is what I did until I covered my sunroof with $10 worth of adhesive white vinyl from a sign shop. If you go the vinyl route, no need to pay for a specially cut "flag". Just get a big sheet and trim after installation. Mine looks perfect and I am a careless person who takes a lot of short cuts.

Has anyone tried mirrored tint on their sunroof?

Just curoius to see how it looks and how it cuts down on the sun.

I put high end (metalized for heat reflectivity) limo tint (5%) on mine and it works great. Cost me something like 60 bucks for both panes.
