Just found out today that my MINI S will be a 2003 build, and I am happy about that. I understand I get an extra key with remote on it, the stero comes satellite ready as well as iPOD ready and a new designed sport steering wheel. Does any one know if the steering wheel is a three spoke design? Just curious.

What's this about the steering wheel? Where did you hear that? (the other two I read about)

 

That's what my dealer told me, she said there was a new sport steering wheel, I asked twice to make sure, I had read earlier in a european publication ( I think it was European Car) that Mini would be getting a 3 spoke steering wheel, but it didn't say when, so i hope that this is what the ment.

 

Havent heard about the steering wheel but did hear the s has option now of silver trim or alloy patina or a new thing anthracite finish (?spelling).
Has anyone else hear that? Also Price will be higher . Anyone know if there are more choices in the seats???

My dealer told me that the 2003 models have a second remote key, the new stereo features, sport steering wheel, silver and anthracite interior trim options, auto-dimming mirrors, auto wipers and the navigation system will now be DVD based. I think those are all the changes.

 

when did you order? what is your order No.? my production date is scheduled for 8-30 (s model) and my dealer said it might get switched to an '03 but nobody seems to know yet.

I thought that the 2003 models began with the 9/6 production date.

 

Sept 1, 2002 begins 2003 production. So, yes, 9/6/02 is the first '03 prod date since all Prod dates are Fridays

 

Not sure when the new steering wheel comes into play, but I understand it will be 3-spoke and have thumb rests.

 

Where is this information comming from on the 2003s? Is the dvd nav system a sure thing? Any pictures of the stearing wheel?

 

I got confirmation that the Nav is indeed DVD based not CD. My dealer is finding out if the new Sports stearing wheel is three spoke, I should know by Wednesday and I will post any info I get on the string.

I've only seen 2 pics online. There's one in the Roadfly.org gallery. It's hard to tell exactly what it looks like. It's a bit copper-ish colored from what I could tell online. But, as we all know from seeing MINIs in the "flesh," online color can be misleading.
