OK, I know it's been posted before. But it's good to be able to brag if you've done it  I have a 2003 MC, hit 120 with no problem. In fact, didn't even really know it until I looked down, then...got a little nervous. So what's your top speed and where. Come on MC owners, show the MCS's that we aren't afraid of speed too

Highway 94, nothing Chicago sub.

Here is a pic from my GPS unit showing a verified max speed of 117mph. At that time, my MINI's speedometer was reading about 125. Does that count?

Of course, I would never knowingly exceed posted speed limits on public highways and for the record, this top speed recording was achieved safely on a top secret private closed track

I've gotten close to 120 once on an empty NYS Thruway, but only for a quick sprint. I don't like going that fast for any length of time. We'll see what happens at track day at Pocono this August.

I think with a broken arm doing 100+ is pretty impresive  Hopefully you didn't brake it doing 100+ and waving to another Mini

I feel just fine in a quality sports car up to about 110mph. Above that speed, the road just starts to move so fast and my vision seems to blur and I get real uncomfortable real quick, even going in a straight line on a closed private track

I hit 200km/h on the highway from Kelowna,BC to Vancouver,BC. Stretched her wings on that one.
On another note, this is the car vehicle that I've owned that doesn't display both KM/H & MPH. Even though km/h is the more dominant used (I do believe) across the world, wonder why they left out the mph readings on the speedo. Not that I really care, just somewhat curious.
Cheers,

I hit 121 in my S on I-84W in PA... but ran out of room, didn't want to crest the hill and see a bear... that's a felony speeding charge.

MINI-Madman....

Thats odd, the US MINIs show both MPH and KPH.

Interesting. So I guess the Made-for-America MINIs read out both types of speed measurement. Are all other MINIs across this world only in KPH? Wonder why that is.
Cheers,

OK. So please do tell. How did you manage that one? What kind of excuse did you use? That's like 190km/h. Unless it was a female cop which turned out to be my wife (if she was a cop) I don't see how I would be getting away with that, if I got pulled over.
Cheers,

UK also have both.
I have been 130 on a number of occasions. The problem is that when the car is going that fast it feels as if it is gliding across the road. Any small twitch of the steering wheel cab take it across lanes. Please everyone take care.

I had mine just over 120 before, only for a very short time. It's a great car at speed.

Still, my fastest was 140 in a Dodge Dart. You may laugh or you may scream, but this heavily modified car ran and sounded awesome at that speed.

That's barely fast enough to drive in the left (fast) lane!

Welcome to Southern California!!!

Consistently 115 on the back straight at Mid-Ohio raceway which is immediately followed by some invigorating threshold braking into a 90 degree right turn.

Full up and then full down. Pretty fun.

An indicated 135 on a mountain road with a LONG straight in So.Cal. My MCS got a bit floaty at that speed on that road so I did back down. I will likely be at Willow Springs this weekend for a BMW driving school. I can't wait to see how fast the back straight is...
