R50/53 WHAT IN THE WORLD!?
WHAT IN THE WORLD!?
My bottom left fog light went out ( the very bottom one, that is activated by the switch) on the front and I discovered that it was just the bulb. When looking into buying another one the cheapest I could find was 45 dollars! 45 dollars for a freaking bulb! ? Some one help me out please!

I paid about $13 each for my bottom fogs (went with bright whites) from some online auto-alumination company. However, I've gone through about 5 of them in less than 5 months. I've cleaned the connectors, made sure not to touch the bulbs, and double-triple-quadruple checked to ensure I have the right model. I'm about to give up and go back to the stock ones.
I do believe there is a $45 fog bulb out there though...you must have found it. I think I saw them at AutoZone actually.

OK, I have an 02 S and this is what I found. The bulb is the same as the headlight (H4). They are a royal PITA to replace. There is a hole in the lamp assembly that allows moisture in, which then blows the bulb. I've had both blow at different times ( replaced by dealer under warranty). The last one I replaced myself, that's how I know it is not an H6 as the manual states, but an H4. I filled the hole and have not had any problems since. I use the lamps every time it rains and at night. Cost should be around $10-$15. Good luck!

Make sure you get the right bulbs. Later cars had H11s?

I thought H4 bulbs were double filament....for high/low beams......my '04 uses one H7 each forhigh and low beams (non HID ) and H11 for the fogs

I get all my bulbs from premiertekinc on eBay. You can get 55w (standard) or 100w in 5500k through 8500k color. Don't go above 7500k because the visable light is too low (in fact best to stay the lowest available k rating , but doesn't look as cool). I would recommend going with the 100w as at 55w the light from the small reflector on the fogs is no more than decorative.
H7 bulbs
hey now....I too have an 02 Cooper and mine uses a H7 bulb for the lower fog light....I've also gone through about 6-7 bulbs on either side, I've checked everything wire related, no water leaks....I can't figure it out and I'm getting sick of shelling out $45.00 for a set of bulbs to have them go out a few weeks later......
Has anyone else had the "blowing bulb syndrome" and actually figured out what the problem was? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks

If they aren't listing what you need, send them a message telling them what you want. Price should be in the $10-16 range plus $9 freight (for 2).
