Mini got hurt today...what to do?

My wife was driving today and something hit the passenger door. She got home and there is about a inch ding in the door. No paint chipping or anything but you can definitely see it. Does anybody know what I can do? Can someone pull this out? It's not a round ding but a vertical one. Please help!

Look for a good paintless dent repair shop in your area. Should be able to fix easily and I'm guessing it won't cost much more than $50. Just guessing without seeing the dent.

+1 It is amazing what the paintless dent repair people can do. I have a couple of black cars and the slightest little parking lot dings show like an eyesore. A quick call to the dent repair people (in my neck of the woods, they come to you - cuts their overhead), and all is well again.

Find a PDR in your area. These guys can work wonders. I had a deep dent in my front fender and in about 15 minutes and $40.00 later it was gone.

Okay, I've never heard of paintless dent repair people (or are they reptiles?). How are they listed in the yellow pages? Are they different than body shops? Are they particularly skilled window tinting shops or tatoo artists? And say, what's this ipod thing?

1. Look in the yellow pages under autobody repair. Review the ads looking for "paintless dent repair." Sometimes you'll find it as it's own catagory. Some names were given above (PDR and Dent Wizard). You can Google them, as well as, look in your directory.
2. These businesses are different than standard body shops, however, standard body shops sometimes offer paintless dent removal. Many of the paintless dent pullers are mobile. I've seen them working in office building parking lots.
3. No. They are not window tint shops. They are also not tatoo artists. Maybe that was a joke you made. If it is, then know they are not pastry chefs, either.
4. an ipod is an ingenious device for listening to recorded audio material. It is digital and not analog. You can use them nearly anywhere. Be sure to use software that allows you to program the maximum volume to a limited setting so you do not make yourself deaf.

Another way to connect with Paintless Dent Repair people is through the dealers. Most of the CPO cars on the lot came in with minor dings. See any dings on the CPO cars? The dealer sure didn't send the cars to a body shop. Enter the paintless dent repair artist.

The PDR guys do great things. I had hail damage and its 99.9% gone. There was also a door ding that was not round, it had a crease in it, and it is complete gone. I am not sure how they got that out perfectly.

Wow, thanks for all the great feedback. I had no idea this could be taken out and so easily it seems. I almost took a picture of the ding to post but I couldn't bring myself to go out and do it....just to painful! I will find a Paintless Dent Repair person in my area (Cincinnati) and see what they can do...I will report back with the results at a later date.

Dent Doctor is another common name-and I think a francise- for these miracle workers. Good Luck!
