I'm trying not to be a psycho here (but admit it, we all have some OCD with this car)...but my Mini was done on 5/16, booked on 5/13, and received at the terminal on 5/19 for a ship leaving on 5/28, and I'm on the wait list. That's fine, I'm not worked up about at that...until I do a little investigative work with the booking number and see all the cars that were in that group (192 total). Of all the 192 cars - everything on the wait list was received at the terminal 5/19-5/22 and everything NOT wait listed was received later (5/23-5/25). What gives? What happened to first-come, first-serve???

I'm sure I'll find out tomorrow if it made it on the boat or not. Anyone else ever seen this before? Please tell me everything will be okay and yes, one day too, I will drive a Mini also.

Hang in there - it'll be at the dealer soon. The last few days wait are brutal, but you *will* be driving your Mini before long. In a short time, you'll be looking out the window at night before you go to bed with a big grin on your face to make sure it's still there and gloat a little. How cool is it to be that wound up over a car?

If it's any consolation, I'm in a group with 67 cars - booked on 5/13, received on 5/16. I've been waitlisted on the two different ships, but have yet to make it on board. The next ship to Port Hueneme is scheduled to leave tomorrow, and I'm not even waitlisted!

I tried ASK-MINI and my dealer, and all they could tell me was 'it should be leaving soon'.

Dang...guess I shouldn't even complain - at least I'm wait listed - for whatever that means (if obviously hasn't done you any good!). So why are all of us with 5/16 DOBs put behind the later born cars?? Did they just stick our cars in some storage facility when they couldn't get us on an earlier ship and have forgotten to upgrade our status? I see 100+ cars in my booking group that are NOT wait listed that arrived later than I did (and the other few dozen that I came with). I, too, am trying to get to Port Hueneme (I'm in Sac, but my dealer is in SF). Guess we have to wait until tomorrow to see what happens.... :evil:

 

Yea, this whole situation is strange. Maybe it's got something to do with those crazy college kids working weekends at the plant!

I've heard that the shipping site doesn't always have the most up-to-date information, so maybe that's the case? Hopefully we'll ALL be on the ship tomorrow, and have nothing to worry about! 'Specially since I've got to wait for my MINI to make it all the way to Denver!

too funny...drunk college students...great....anyway, just looked at the booking group again and ALL cars in my group are now wait listed (there are 207 now). The other day, some had the asterisk and some did not.

I've heard that the shipping site is pretty up-to-date - definitely compared to the Owners Lounge and anythihng my dealer has said. I've even checked it on the days it was going into ports in Sweden and Belgium and the site is always updated to say "Vessel has sailed".

So you're hoping to be on the Grand Race tomorrow? Is that the only one coming to Port Hueneme? That's the one I'm slated for right now...good thing it's already tomorrow in Europe, we might have our answer in the morning... :smile:

Yep, most definitely hoping for the Grand Race. Just checked again - nothing.

After that, the next ship is the Jupiter Diamond, which arrives July 2nd. Though the Maersk Wind leaves even later, and arrives 6/26. The schedules are here:

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it gets worse! How?

Well, with my Mini it waited 3 weeks to get on da' ship. Then as I monitored the stats for this ship, it said it landed in NY and SC. Yet I did not hear from the dealer after a few days! So I called. WHich port did it come in at? Duh?

My Mini did land in NJ. But then it goes through all these inspections for a few days and then....

YOU WAIT FOR YOUR TURN ON THE AUTO TRANSPORT! They carry only 10 cars at a time. So I asked, "Is this alphabetical or numerical?" Hey, my last name ends in "C" so I wanted this alphabetical!!!

Well, it took a few more days for the auto-transport-trucker to drive the Mini from NJ to VA (GOD BLESS TRUCKERS!!!! [kiss] ) and then the car gets inspected at the dealer. More waiting! (sigh)

I've never had kids but I felt like I was pregnant and having a hard child birth to get this car! It finally, finally, finally got into my garage on April 11.

It's like it has to get citizenship papers and pass all it's tests before it can become yours?
