Can't Decide On Color

Help!! I keep fluctuating on color choice between pepper white blk roof, or sparkling silver, blk. roof, and bk stripes. Back and forth, back and forth....
Any pros or con ideas out there to help would be greatly appreciated. I'm in Seattle, where it is dreary. This is my first post, and my first MINI...and I think I have read every post in here...thank you all for my MAXI education

Just do what ever makes you happy I guess, MINI's look good in almost any color. White roof is more classic and Black and car color roof is more modern. luckly I walked on to the dealers lot and seen my dream car sitting there so I never went through the ordering, I dont think I could have made it through.

I was sure I wanted p/w...more retro. But then I saw a s/s, with the blk roof and stripes and it was darn spiffy. I think I'll just keep obsessing till my head falls off. Or better yet I'll go tango...another fun way to loose my head, and another obsession.

I am partial to Pepper White but the other MINI in my household is Sparkling Silver. They both are about the same when it comes to keeping them clean but the sparkling silver may be a little better. Good luck with your decision and welcome to NAM

You're out-thinking yourself and it will drive you crazy. :impatient If you feel equally strong about either option, just flip a coin, or draw a straw, or put them in a hat and pick one. You'll feel better once you commit. This is just the first of many MINI choices...it never gets easier, but it sure is fun!

On outside color alone I like Pepper white with black roof better,
Silver is more common and had been around longer.

What are the options for interior with each car?

Pepper white is really nice with brown leather interior.

Silver is nice with black interior.

Silver is nice if you ever wanted to do carbon fiber accents.

As far as I know...there is no brown leather interior, unless I am getting the convertible...there is the reddish? I would prefer the brown, but am not getting the convertible. I would probably go with the lounge leather black, with the cream line for the pepper white. I need the most comfortable seats, so I am splurging on them! I don't have an affinity with the other silvers, and was surprised I liked the SS. It was warmer. I saw it with the white roof, and no black stripes and it didn't appeal to me as much,( it looked a little bland) One of the problems is that I haven't seen very many of the SS. If I saw them all over the place...I'd probably have a better sense. I also try and picture things as they age. Thank you everyone for you opinions. They are quite helpful, and I am very appreciative of the feeling of community.

Sparkling Silver with Black roof and Bonnet stripes lucks awesome. It's not like your traditional silver. I have yet to see one on the road in NJ.....I've been looking, since my baby (SS/B) should be rolling into port sometime tomorrow! If you want an MC that is "different" go with SS/B, since I don't think there are many out there. Decisions, decisions, decisions.....and once you've made them, you'll have time to change your mind and change your order!

i have a dark grey and love it but if i were you i would definately opt. for the pepper white. silver's common for any car while the pepper white is just the perfect tone of off-white. PW/B!

Gee, what do you like?

Pro on Pepper White: I like it and painted my '57 MGA that color.
Con: None

Pro on silver: None
Con: I don't like it.

I guess that pretty much settles what you should get.

Your first post mentioned "Dreary" - I'd say get the sunroof. The Mini roof extends pretty far forward, which can get a little claustrophobic, not to mention making it hard to see stoplights if you creep up too far on them. The sunroof helps make the car feel airier on the inside - and matches a black roof pretty well. On the other hand, it looks pretty good with the silver too, or the white...

Imagine walking up to the car while you're feeling glum. Which color combination do you see?

I love both of these colors, I own a PW and love it but I agree that if you are truly torn, flip a coin! Then, if you feel a twinge of regret, pick the other one

White will quickly show dirt and bugs. That's a big deal where I live.

There seems to be some misconception as to what Sparkling Silver looks like. For those who have not seen it, it is NOT silver. It's more like champagne gold. It's nothing like Pure Silver or Dark Silver.

As far as choosing between SS and PW - sorry, I'd have a hard time choosing between those two as well. I have seen the SS/B combination, and it looks REALLY good, especially with the black stripes (and the red lounge leather interior) , but so does the PW/B. I think that the SS would be less common than PW. PW seems to be a ridiculously popular color (non-color, really, but whateva), and they're all over the place.

And I hate to choose things this way, but if you think the car is likely to get banged up and need body and paint work at some point in the future, PW will be easier to paint-match, and SS will be practically impossible without painting the entire car. If you decide that you really love the SS, though, I don't think I'd let the thought of possible future paint work turn you off of that color.

I love My Pepper White. Only issue is that now living in the south bugs are a problem. Other than that it stays cleaner than I thought. Actually shows less dirt than my Gold Saturn did.

Why blend in with the dreariness? Fight it! Red or yellow with a white roof. You'd stand out like a symbol of brightness and FUN. Yeah, I'm throwing a wrench into the works.

They're both great, but I'd do SS/B with stripes. It'll show less dirt, and there is a rumor floating around that its a limited run color--its not a "permanent" color--you're going to have something relatively unique.

Drive em both, whatever makes you tingle inside the most is what you should go with.

The PW hides the dirt pretty well, being a light color. The CR MINI is much, much harder to keep looking clean. That's especially true in the winter months when salt and chemicals are constantly being sprayed up on the boot.

Personally, I never cared for silver cars. Looks like someone forgot to paint it.

I did ask the dealer about limited S/S, and his response was "No, it's a brand new color." I ended up changing my order at the last minute to P/W due to wanting increased visibility on the road, less expensive to repaint, touch up etc. I did see them both recently and the S/S/ is very nice. I have only seen one on the road here, but that should change at some point. I was so focused on it, that I failed to change the headliner to black, with black lounge leather and cream....what a shame! The worse part will be the pillars.

When faced with a decision like this, I always go with my gut.
Therefore, get it in red.
