Saying hi! Hi!

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I joined PittStop MINI about 2 months ago. I picked up my '04 MCS back in January and just started working on some minor mods. Looking forward to meeting more members and going to events. I'm hoping to do some auto-x this year also.

Later!

Tim

Hi Tim,

I autocross regularly at BeaveRun with the Steel Cities SCCA. Check out www.racepa.com and www.steelcities-scca.org . If you need any additional info or tips give me a pm.

Gene

On second thought, did I see you autox'ing the caddy at the Beave last year?

Gene,

I haven't had a chance to auto-x the caddy yet. Mine's black w/some funky striping (previous owner got "creative"). The last time I autocrossed w/Steel Cities was when they were at Allegheny County Airport w/my red '84 GTI.

I can def use some tips w/setting up my S.

Thanks!

Tim

The first question is always, what mods? WHat class are you planning to run?

Right now I have VGS and HAI "installed". I know replacing the intake bumps you out of stock, but would be willing to put that back in to run stock.

I'd definately go stock, although there's some great competition in STS/X. I'd maybe think about alignment, but otherwise leave things alone for GS.

Yah, I've been reading up in the G-Stock forum and that's what I plan on running. I'll just need to get a new air filter - old one was toast, plan on doing the "one-ball" exhaust mod and some decent tires.

Is the VGS mod legal in G-Stock?

I'd guess that it isn't, but I doubt anybody would protest, especially because it's invisible. If you wanted a better answer there's a "what class am I" thread under the autox section of RacePa.com.
