Life in the thread! lol Thanks for the reply! Are there any Mini and coffee or cruise events that happen for the Mini community? I am new to Mini but I have known and worked on this car for a while before buying it from my buddy. I cannot seem to find anything on this side of the mountains at this point. I am in Lakewood and i see a few nice Mini's running around.
Years ago, I used to see a caravan of MINI's going places during the summer.....there was also a large MINI Cooper gathering at the XXX Drive-In located in Issaquah every year, but I don't think that is happening anymore......
I tried to find if there was any gatherings going on locally here, but have not had much luck.....I think the MINI fad has died out up here.
Awe man that's not cool at all! I always see a few of them running around and then all of a sudden they are gone. I know a few Mini's would show up at the Bimmer meet ups a while back but i have been away from that for a while now. I did find a pretty huge population in Spokane and what not but that is pretty darn far to talk shop every month. lol
Maybe we can get a few more people to pop up on here and put together a meet and greet or something. Never know.. lol
Awesome looking ride! I am in the same boat for at least the next few weeks or so. I work in Education so I get to have a few weeks off in the summer. I have personally never put together a meet up but it could be something I could try.
the wheels are the same as I bought it....but they were all in the house during the getting the car back on the road over the winter...I do have new tires on it now.......
I think I seen your thread when you first put that car back together?! You live in Fife I believe!? I followed that thread pretty much since the beginning before I even had a Mini!! That's super awesome you popped up on here! I thought that user name looked familiar to me. I only just recently signed up for the site so i never saved or subscibed to your thread. I just googled it nearly everyday!
Hey guys! I’m up here in Marysville! The PSMINI club is still very active. We have coffee and donut meets monthly as well as regular drives put together by club members. There are a few PNW groups on Facebook too..... PSMINI, of course, as well as PNW Miniacs, Coopers and Coffee and a few others. Hit me up anytime! I’m always happy to talk, tinker or drive!
Mike

The car looks great!
Still have that thread going, still working on the car and fixing things on it......I think I have almost fixed all that was wrong with it from the previous owner(s), but as you know, these cars are never "done".....at least mine aren't
There's quite a few on base here, and I always see the same 2-3 together heading up Steliacoom road, but they're always going the other way. I'm sure the mystery of what they're up to is far more interesting than the truth, but someday I'll catch them.

I can dig it. I have only owned mine for about 3 weeks and have done quite a bit of work on it already. I got the Mini from a friend and have wrenched on the car in the past. He got a new car so I purchased this one. I have a small to do list this weekend to take care of on her for sure. That is super awesome you are still working on this car! If you ever need someone to hold the tools or do some lifting let me know! I am just south of you in Lakewood.
Anyone still on here? Fairly new Mini owner here and would like to find other like minded peeps to talk shop with etc..
Thanks,
Joe
Hi! Do you belong to the Oregon Mini Society? We have lots of fun and are helping host the 60th Anniversary Mini Race at PIR this Sept. Here's what's happening with one of my former cars this weekend. https://www.prlog.org/12774538-fathe...rson-team.html

Good Morning! I do not belong to any Mini clubs at the moment. I have seen a lot more Mini's running around lately with maybe 2-3 wave backs instead of the usual weird look other people give. lol.
Local prior R56 owner and just recently traded for an R60. Been lurk'n here on NAM for a while. My wife and I were just talking last night wondering if there was any local activity. Found this thread.
Mike (Mr Grumpy), thanks for the link to PSMini... We looked last night and looks like there are 2 events coming up right in my area! we wont be able to hit up the one this Sunday due to prior commitments, but are planning on attending the July 3rd event (it is at one of my favorite food joints and park that I drive by daily!!).
Google does not index FB or IG closed or even open group post. So when you search from google about MINI parts or problems or part numbers it shows very little to nothing on FB/IG. The forums has all the info and data!
Fair points all, and agreed that this place is my primary source for all tech discussions. The activity I see on FB is much more quick-hit social as in “check out this pic of X on my car” with a few responses. Or coordination of group drives/activities. I think the forum interface is less conducive to those “shallow” interactions.
i do appreciate your hustle on working “parts questions” into your response as well. :D
