Pikes Peak
Yes I have, at least a dozen times. If you ever get out there do not miss the chance to drive up. The other one not to miss is the drive up Mt Evans. You catch it off of I 70 in Idaho Springs. A paved road all the way to the top of a Fourteener. Not to me missed.
I have driven up Pikes Peak in a rental car, I think it was a Frod Explorer. Some quite hairy corners and some severe drops or sure. Take something warm to wear, I was there in June once and it was freezing! Breathtaking view at the top... in every respect! Good video here http://media2.springsgov.com/pikespe...khighwayHI.wmv
I've been up several times. Once was 10 of us in a Ford Astro 4wd rental van, they didn't think it was funny when I took one of the hairpins in a tiny oversteering slide. Not with Swifty yet.
Another time I rode up from the top of the Incline to Glen Cove on a trail, just a little of the road to see a hillclimb (second year for the rally class).
It's worth the trip.

i've seen pikes peak hill climb videos, always wondered how they managed to not slide and fall off the side

Many times, I used to live in Col Springs. Take warm clothes if going to the top, and be aware, some cars just won't run at 14k feet elevation. Turbos and supercharged cars will, but they'll be sluggish. It's great fun!
I guess I should have added I did it years ago in a 88 Supercharged MR2. Yeah 14K was tough on the body nevermind the car. Just wanted to see if anybody else has. I remember the checkpoints for the brakes coming down. I saw a lot of Jeep Cherokees with the brakes overheating.
