It is actually a trike, so some motorcycle shippers won't take it. I have had bad auto shipping experiences in the past, so I am looking for recommendations. It will be from Phoenix to Austin.

A keep hearing great things about Forward Air (www.forwardair.com), but I don't know anyone that's used them for a trike. Their "Large Touring" bike container has inside dimensions of 118"L x 44.6"W x 59"H, so you can use that as a guide. Might not be enough width, though - some trikes are more like three-wheeled cars than bikes.

I read somewhere that people who ship their cars to Pebble Beach and such events use FedEx's auto shipping division.

I've seen some people at the Concorso and the local Ferarri dealer use http://www.horselesscarriage.com/

Allied van lines does a great job shipping big bikes and cars to fill out partial loads on moving vans. No reason they couldn't handle trikes. Price is good too.

Well its too big for Forward Air and Horseless Carriage is expensive. I put a quote in for Allied Van Lines though, I hope its good because my goal is to actually deal with and pay the shipping company directly. FedEx is expensive but at least it would be convenient and trustworthy. I hate paying "Auto Brokers" who tag a few hundred onto the actual shipping cost, and all they do is hand you off to a shipping company and then give you zero customer service.

I have never driven a trike before, so it would be a long first ride.

Have a vehicle you could pull a trailer with? I have a bike trailer that might work.

Also Harley Davidson is officially in the motorcycle shipping business. You can see it on their webpage. Doesn't have to be a Harley. They deal with sidecars, so I would think trikes would be doable.

I've used ForwardAir with great success, but that's the only one I've directly dealt with so feel hesitant suggesting other options.

There are several companies that have ads every month in bike magazines.
