I've seen a few threads where people have gotten into accidents soon after buying a new car. Yeah, stuff happens.

So has it happened to you?

Have you bought a brand new car right from the factory, any car, and had an accident within a short period of time.

We have ... first weekend we had a new car (maybe 3 days) someone hit us from the rear in heavy traffic coming home from the beach.

 

Depends on what you mean by 'new.' You could qualify for the 'Newlywed Game' if you were married less than 2 years!

I got rear ended at 3000 miles on my 2004 Ranger. It was a 4x4 and a sedan hit me at about 35 and totaled the car....then I got hit 3 more times before getting rid of that truck. Knock on wood, thats the most damage that i have had ever

 

not an accident, but the first weekend drive i took (3 days after
ownership) a dump truck passing by in the opposite direction dropped
a big rock that scratched up my bumper on my G. got most of it out
but i was pretty irritated.

then my 06 civic got hit by a UPS truck in the parking lot at less than
700miles... $980 in damage, i fixed it myself came out to about $200
tops.

my legacy was keyed only a month after ownership... then wife smashed
2 wheels (well, rimmed) on a curb, then recently bumped into something..
nice white scratch ball on the rear bumper corner. car got dinged
and creased many times which i fixed, dealer gauged the front bumper
when replacing the headlight assembly, bent the fender, etc. lots of
cosmetic damage for a new car. not that i really care on that car.
gonna replace that thing within a year, probably.

 

In the fourth or fifth month of ownership of my '03 Monte Carlo SS, a woman decide she needed to be in my lane when I there. She was trying to get out from behind a left turning truck and hit my door, and left rear quarter, and rear wheel with the right front corner of her 'Yota. Insurance picked it up to the tune of over $3000!

Almost a year to the day I got my 02 MCS I had a boating accident with it. Yep you read that right, a boating accident.

My very first brand new car (accord) got rear-ended before I even made the 1st payment:impatient

 

I hit a deer week 3...

 

Two weeks after I bought my new civic ex coupe back in 2003 a silverado backed into it in the parking lot and caused $1200 in damage.

 

Had a brand new 1996 Saturn for just a couple weeks, and some twit in a panel van changed lanes into me, doing some minor damage and leaving some tire marks along the car. Then, a couple months later, while sitting at a stop light, the idiot behind me though the light had changed, and pushed in the trunk.
