Happy birthday! I always planned to go test drive a bunch of cars on my 18th, but I wasted most of the day just sleeping haha. What kind of cars are you interested in test driving? Ever drive an H2 before?

Me and my goober friend managed to convince some sales girl to let us drive an Evo when we were about 18 or 19. Tell them Daddy will be making payments and you need AWD for long school commutes. The worst they can say is no.

In that case, join the Army, get deployed to Germany, then get wasted.

If you're not in a relationship and parents won't care, the **** is a good way to celebrate.

Loti, Lambo, Ferrari, try and get a ride in a 6 series or M5, bring a friend so they give you the keys and can take your time. Heck I got bored once so I went and test drove a JCW for a while cause it makes good sense to pump some gas through the demonstrator every once in a while, didn't care how long I took or even ask to tag along. See if a local Ford Dealer has a Rousch on the lot. Go to an upperclass neighbor hood, and play the parents birthday gift card, you won't have been the first. Oh and I think the local Hummer dealer still has some H1s on the lot. Of course there are cars like the GTI, Sti, Si, IX, and SRT (The SRT-8 don't look too bad), lets see theres also a C6. Plenty out there to go test drive.

Just curious. do you really think dealers will give an 18 year old a test drive in a Lambo, Ferrari or Vette?

Def not. I went out testing a handful of cars with a friend once... we got to take a C230 and a loaded-out-the-*** A4 out by ourselves. The dealers went with us in the Passat, 325i, S40, and TL. Then we went to the Chevy dealer who my family has purchased four vehicles from (same salesman) to see what a Cobalt SS was like. Wouldn't even let us take one out WITH them with us.

I guess the question was rhetorical. No lambo dealer or Ferrari dealer will most likely even talk to an 18 year old

I dont think you can sign a legal contract until 21 anyway.

Chevy Dealers are wierd like that, I had a salesman at one basically willing ot let 18 yr old me take anything for a test drive if the salesguy came along, I told him I was looking for a smaller economical car and he wanted be to drive a pick-up so I left, still calls to tell me about sales no matter how often I say I've already got another car.:impatient

You can at age 18. That's the age of majority.

Not unless they recognise you as someone very famous or very rich.

Maybe if he promised to detail the cars with some Prima they'd go for it

So what did you end up test driving?

My last spate of test drives was an SLK 350, Boxster and A3s - haven't tried anything new since then, its far too dangerous especially if I went on my birthday :D

And hey, Happy B-Day from a fellow February baby
