Recomended MA at Patrick MINI
Recomended MA at Patrick MINI
Yes, I know I'm dragging my feet and haven't actually bought one yet. However, I feel like I've gotten that old time religion feeling back and wanted to stop by Patrick tonight with the kids for a look at the 2005s.
However, it's been so long since I stopped in there, the receptionist had never even heard of the MA I had been talking to.
Since the Dealer Ratings board is still down, can anybody toss in their 2 cents as to who they would recomend as an MA at Patrick?
Thanks

I hear they have some 'performance alignment' service there where they
will agressively setup your car to your preferences... I heard good things
about that too. They can do any car, basically.
I think Im going to bring in my G perhaps next spring.

While Chuck hasn't actually seen any money from me yet, I must confirm that he has been extremely helpful and knowledgable. His sales manager was also very tolerant of my young children while I was there monopolizing his time one evening.
He also confirmed for me that Patrick MINI is an MSRP only dealer. In other words, they do NOT charge that processing fee I've heard others do.
He also said that they do NOT charge for the options programming if done at time of initial delivery.

Ken,
Mr. Freeze(Nirmit) reminded me that you got a cooper S. I test drove one at Patrick yesterday. Wondering if you're free some time and don't mind if I take a look at your ride. Looks like I may be copying you!

to stop by some time and check her out. I got some stuff on my
homepage (signature) to get you started, so try there first.
Which color are you looking at? That new HyperBlue is nice too.
Figured I'd copy the paint scheme that I was going to put on the cobra. Silver with Black Stripes.
So let me get this straight....With three mods I can get a reliable 200hp from out of the 1.6? Seems like all I need is intake, Pulley, Exhaust and maybe a ECU program?

Yep, on a cool day using non-winter gas.
If you can find a DASTEK tuner in the area, you might want to go with
a Unichip. I had the Unichip but sold it cause I could not find a local
tuner. It ran great if I did not use Shell V-Power...it was running too
lean. I don't plan on getting a ECU again though. Just use my intake,
exhaust, 15% pulley, and run my light SSR Comps...and that's it.

dang, second MINI. Congratulations!
I'd need to rent a garage before I can fit another MINI.

I don't know much about the MINI aftermarket yet. Been neck deep in Fords lately all I know about are heads, Cams, Intake...and carbs of course!! LOL!
Been building MCS on miniusa.com for the last few days. Better to get aftermarket 17's I assume? 16's should be good enough for winter and then switch to 17s in summer?
SSR Competition wheels. 16x7.5 12.5lbs (vs 25lbs on factory R90 17's). very big difference in unsprung weight (braking and acceleration).
If you're planning on getting aftermarket wheels you should just get
the 16's from the factory and use it during the winter as you said.
But doesn't the sportpackage already include the 17" s-lites? Not
sure, since i got the car with the R90's... Well, you can use
whatever factory wheel in the winter, I guess, using all seasons.

I highly recommend Kevin. I bought my '03 MSC from him and when I order my '05 (hopefully this summer) it will also be from Kevin.
I just got an e-mail from him last week -- he was checking in making sure I still love the MINI. Silly question of course, but it was nice to hear from him.
