Ok. Here's the story. Someone stole my MINI, but it's not what you think. As a surprise to both my son and I, my wife ordered an ice cream sheet cake for my son's 10th birthday from Baskin Robbins. Only this was no ordinary ice cream cake. This cake had a full-cake-sized picture of a dark silver MCS with a white top -just like mine which is currently on a ship. Evidently, she took a photo of the MCS from one of my press kits and custom ordered the cake for the party by my in-laws this past Saturday. Well when she got to the store around 1pm, she didn't see the cake in their freezer. So she asked one of the employees to help her find her custom cake. He couldn't find it either. So he went in the back and came out with the order sheet and said, "Oh, someone picked it up this morning.". "This morning?", gasped my wife, "But I'm the only one that even knows about it!!!". So there you have it. Someone STOLE our MINI cake. It was to be a birthday cake for my son whose actual B-day was the week before (9/13) and my MINIs B-day was 9/14. It only said Happy Birthday on it and had the big pic of my MCS. Whoever bought it knew it was a special order because there was a receipt on the box with my wife's name on it and the person who bought it actually initialed the receipt and their special order sheet.

Shame on you, whoever you are. I hope you're not on this board. I'm not sure the theif was a MINI lover. They just might have liked the looks of my car!

Wow! That is a really scummy thing to do to someone. Stealing a b-day cake? Jeez, why not just ask the cake people to make another just like it and then buy that one. People do the weirdest things.

Just picture this, setting in the family room, fire in the fireplace, gifts under the tree and the police knocking at the front door to arrest someone for stealing a tree. or worse going out and cutting it down on someone elses property!

Anyway...on the topic of Mini birthday cakes....that is so lame that someone would do that! I hope they ate too much cake and it made them sick! I bet they would have wished they didn't take it then!!!

I blame Baskin Robbins! How could they sell your special ordered cake to someone else! You said your wife's name was on it. That's just stupidity! If they had the name on it where anyone could see it and just come in and say "Hey, that's my cake" and not have to prove it in any way, it's their fault! I hope they made you another one. :evil:

 

Just shows you that there are stupid people everywhere, just not among the Mini owners.

 

Of course...have any of you considered that maybe someone saw the mini cake sitting in the freezer and wanting to know what kind of car it was...because it was so cool looking, that they took the cake so that they could take it from dealer to dealer.

They knew it would be easier to show a picture of the car than to try and describe it....

Maybe that's what happened...
