What car (besides the Mini of course) do you drive?
One evening in December of 2004, my dad had just won an eBaymotors auction online after bidding on a 1998 Mercedes Benz C280. Turns out he was actually car shopping, and called me into his room to tell me about his new prize.
"Isabel, check this out. This is your new car," he said.
I was shocked, because I had just barely turned 16, and I had no idea I would be driving myself to and from school in a Mercedes Benz! I still thought I'd be getting my older sister's hand-me-down, which was a black 2001 Toyota Carolla.
My dad won it for about $11,000.
Year: 1998
Class: C-280
Color: Champagne
Transmission: Automatic
Engine: 6-cylinder
Options
Sunroof
Leather Seats
CD and Cassette player
Anti-Lock Brakes
Driver Airbag
Passenger Airbag
Air Conditioning
Cruise Control
Power Locks
Power Windows
Power Seats
Description
It has a stunning champaign color with a beige leather interior. This is a very classy and desirable color combination. It's one of the most fun and fast cars to drive for an affordable price. It is a very powerful car that handles and drives superbly. Few cars out there can match its performance and sheer comfort for a 4 door. Besides all its performance features it is nicely loaded car. The engine starts and idles smoothly just craving to be pushed to its limit. The Automatic transmission makes driving this car a soulful experience you will want to repeat over and over again.
I decided to name her Nancy.

My Stable
My stable includes:
1999 BMW R1100S motorcycle - original owner
1987 VW Vanagon with 3.2 liter Carrera engine and G50 5-speed transmission from an '87 Porsche 911 (I did all the conversion work myself)
1985 VW Quantum Syncro Wagon (originally a temporary car until my MINI arrives, but this is a very competent car, and a good one for those quick trips up to the slopes - I just might keep it)

Nice looking ride. Your '98 is one of the last "Real" Benzes. The new ones don't do it for me at all.
Mercedes should have never gotten away from the "Stodgy" and "Square" look that was the trade mark of its cars for so many decades. The new ones try too hard to be "In with the times" and end up looking cheap.
To me the best S-Class sedans were built in the 1980's. Those cars after 20 years still have class and status.

The MINI is my daily driver but I've also got a '73 Volvo 1800ES and a '79 Triumph Spitfire.
The Spitfire was my economical solution to my craving for a convertible. I had thought of getting a MCC (in addition to my MCS) but soon realized that once I paid for it I wouldn't be able to buy gas for it, or food for myself.

My other rides are a 1988 Corvette Convertible and a 2002 Chevy Xtreme Pickup.
This past week I drove my mothers Town Car to work. I told people I was giving boat rides after work. They wanted to know where. I told them we'd ride around the building. It's really more like a water bed on wheels.
If you're getting bored with your Mini, drive a Town Car for a week!
