What car (besides the Mini of course) do you drive?

If all goes well, I will have a Spitfire 1500 in my garage within the next few weeks. It has three tops - a soft top, a removable metal hardtop and a tonnu cover. Not to everybody's likes but I abolutely love the lines. I would rather have an earlier model but the price is right and this is a very low mileage and well taken care of car I am buying. Here is a photo of a similar model but not my car.

The MCS is my daily driver but she shares "nice weather drive time" with my 1973 Volvo 1800ES and my 1979 Triumph Spitfire. Poor Nittany got relegated to a space outside the garage when the Spit arrived this year. I need a bigger garage.

The Sexy Swede out at my company's car show this year:

Baldrick as he looked the day I bought him (before driving him out of the owner's very, very muddy driveway ):

We obviously share the same taste in cars! The P1800s have been one of my favorites since I was a kid sitting in front of the TV watching The Saint every afternoon. And the ES wagons are rarer than rare! I've only seen a handfull in person.

Yep. Only a little over 8000 ES's were ever produced during their two years of production.

Currently I'm driving a 91 Honda Civic CX hatchback while waiting for the Mini to come in, which is replacing the 03 Mazda Protege5 we sold. My normal car is an 06 Honda Accord LX-SE that my wife is driving right now, since it's safer and has A/c for her 60 mile commute each way, while I get the 5 mile no-A/C commute each way. Normally not having A/C wouldn't be so bad except that it has been 100 plus weather here for the last 2-3 weeks.

Honda uglymobile...I mean toaster...I mean Element! Actually I really like it as my everyday driver. The MCS is my Fun mobile!

Trick: You enter the garage with your hands over your eyes...get inside the Element and uncover your eyes!...Not too bad that way

Here's our rides. Nothing exciting, the Vibe is my wife's/family car. The civic is what I've been using for Solo 2's but getting my but kicked around by MINI's has led me to seek one myself. So I'm thinking about selling the Civ' and looking for an 02' or 03' MINI Cooper. I've also included some photoshop fun with the Vibe, I call it 'Prince's Purple Wagon', ha. (Yes those are MINI wheels on the Vibe)

I can attest to one less 1800, lost in it's infancy in the early '70's. A high school and college friend owned one via familial largesse and promptly rolled/totalled it on a relatively mild freeway offramp. Oh well!

Hey, there are some nice-looking cars in this thread! Me and my husband have a 2003 Honda Civic EX 4-door in addition to the MINI:

Yeah... bad cell phone pic. Great story, though: one morning we came outside to see that our parked car had been completely covered in marigold petals from the flowers that grow near it. WEIRD!

What else is in the garage????

I am curious how many people actually use their mini as a daily driver, or only car. And curious as to what type of cars other than the mini owners are into.

Here is our stable.

Post up!

No problem. Newbies sometimes don't realize just how common their questions are. For example, there are already several threads on personalized license plates.

My MC is more or less my daily driver, although I use the bikes more often. My wife has an '04 Monte Carlo, and we have a mostly original '73 Mustang Mach 1 that sees occasional use.

Currently we have a '97 Nissan Altima, which will become my daughter's college car in a week or so... We also have a Nissan Titan truck. I will be carless here in a week since no mini in production yet... so my nice son-in-law has offered me his spare car to drive. I'll be sporting around town in a '72 Cutlass, nicely restored. Oh yah, old lady in a muscle car.

Up until two weeks ago I typically dove my '04 Titan, but I bought the Mini because I travel alot for work and I havent been in my Titan since, its been lonely in the driveway. When its pretty out, I will be on my Victory Hammer though.
