I took my MINI out for a drive with my PCA chapter this past weekend, up to Ft Wayne, Indiana to O'Daniel Porsche. This was for the annual tech session that the dealership sponsors. The bonus for attending was the chance to get up close to a new Carerra GT that a local guy recently took delivery of, and as of last saturday, it had 380 miles on it. The guy claims that he will not let it be a total garage queen....

Since we are talking Porsches, I got some track time at Pocono in this GT2...

 

i saw a Carerra GT at a Porsche dealership in st. louis a month or so ago when they were having their sneak preview of the new boxster. Overheard the sales manager say if you buy the CGT, he'd throw in a boxster.

i'm going to the 3 series sneak preview tomorrow... i may have to take my MINI barf bag.

 

There was one at MotorSpeed Ranch in Texas a couple of weekends ago, awesome ride!

 

Saw this bad boy on my vacation in Northern California last year parked at a cafe on Highway 1 just south of Ft. Bragg. Ya gotta love that plate "BY BY NZO"

 

Carrera GT's are the hotness. I have driven a couple of them and there is nothing better...

I've been on track with and passed by new Turbos and even a GT3 once. My 914 only has two liters of fury, and even with the Weber 44s and a hot cam, I can barely keep up with the exhaust stream of those...

What was it like to drive a GT2 on a track?

 

They both run equal in the quarter. They run an 11.1 I believe.

 

life dosn't end at the quarter mile....
and I think the enzo does a 10.8 or something sick, .3 of a gap but it only increases from there, then there is the carerra with a redline at like 200 and a little ferrari closer to 220... could go into other stuff but no need to.
