First hand info on GT4
Goto status screen and hit the start button. U can only import 100,000. I got the MCS and well, honestly this game makes me angry for 1 reason. I feel like they only concentrated on the Japanese cars. Alot of the other cars are missing details. Japanese cars are exact down to almost all the models. The Euro cars are missing alot of things.
Whats with the S? no JCW Edition? the engine sounds on anything other then japanese are way off.
I love the game but those things made me mad.

My latest car is a used Nissan Be-1. Pretty cool little thing! And, if you want a challenge, try the 1964 Pontiac GTO on the Nurburgring.

I read that even iPod Shuffles work, so probably most - if not all - keychain USB things should work.
I played it a little yesterday but I was pretty busy. I agree so far with the reviews that it's basically a better looking/more refined GT3 with a couple extra modes (b-spec/photo).

Yeah, I think pretty much any USB storage device should work with it.
My early impressions are the GT4 is a lot better than GT3. More cars, more tracks, noticeably better physics (braking in particular feels a lot more realistic), B-Spec mode, photo mode, better (though definitely not perfect) AI, better graphics, better sound... . It took them long enough but it's a worthy successor.
Life and work intrude here, too, but it's hard to stay away from the thing. Especially when there's lots of snow outside and my real "toy" cars are in the garage.

I forgot to mention that there are some nice convenience features, too, like now car setups can be saved as setup A, B, and C for each car, whereas before you had to name each individual saved setting yourself. I like keeping a stock settings group for each car, though, like before, there are some mods you can't undo, like weight reduction.

I think the best sound in a car game so far has to be NFSU2 - very realistic, especially on and off throttle sounds. Every other game sounds like a bad computer game to me.
I wish there was a great PC game with the cars and physics and TRACKS of some of the console games, with the graphics and sounds the PC is capable of :(

I won that weird Toyota thing for winning all of the beginner's 4WD races. It's the Toyota Triathlon and I found an article about it. Apparently it's a fuel-cell powered electric car. It's definitely strange to drive. For one thing, there's no engine braking. Pretty quick and good-handling.
Here are a couple of photo mode pics I took.

I've noticed the shaky/fuzzy screen during the startup of a race too.
One big difference that I noticed immediately, is that weight-transfer seems to be much more critical in my driving technique. This is accentuated by the view bobbing up and down in a pronounced fashion when getting on the brakes or gas. Maybe it's because I'm concentrating on getting used to the MINI (short wheelbase, etc.) but I think it's there on other cars as well.
GT4 may not be the quantum leap improvement we were expecting over GT3, especially after so many years waiting, but it seems to have a lot of depth and variety.

I picked up the Miata and the Skyline GT-R used for cheap.
