too bad I can't find a release date anywhere. Given the GT3 roll-out, even if I could find one it would be hard to believe it.

Let's hope there are still hidden F1 cars.

The more I look at those pics the more amazed I am. I mean...I used to have an Atari when I was little...and the graphics on the Atari compared to these?

yeah, seriously - back in the day, with Pac Man, Missile Command, Defender, and Pitfall. We thought we had it so good back then.

GT4 is currently scheduled for release in North America between January and March of 2004. I have no problem with that, I hope they take all the time they need to get the game right (unlike the Two Towers and the Matrix, which were both rushed).

Besides, there's always this one in the meantime!

They use a whole new graphics engine on this game. Makes for some beautiful eye candy.

Yeah the reviews say that it's not just more of the same, and that it really does outperform GT3 in every way, which is amazing considering how good GT3 still looks. It was the first game to really master lighting and reflection effects.

yeah, some of the GT3 stages are stunning lighting wise, but even then the swiss alps rally stage is a bit dark.

>>Great list! One downer though - no Ferraris! I'd love to drive a 575M Marenello. Or a 360 Modena. Wheee!

you can drive the modena on project gotham racing for xbox. now thats a fun game!

When I saw the pics of the two rally cars, at first I thought they were real, I couldn't tell.

Woah

GT-4 looks beautiful

GT-3 was the only reason why I bought a PS2. It is the only game I continually play. I think it has helped me avoid two real world accidents with the quicker reflexes I have developed. I avoided them strictly through instincts learned from driving the GT-3 cars all the time. Unfortunately I still relatively suck at video games, but it is nice to pretend I can drive some of these amazing featured automobiles in GT-3.

Was told it's due out sometime in October. That's way too damn long for me to wait. Anyone have an exact date. Gotta get a countdown going.
It has every vehicle I ever owned. All the way from a Sunfire, to a newstyle Cougar, to a SVT Lightning (which is about damn time someone took recognition there for that), to a MINI. Sweet lovin'. This should be good. I'm taking the month of October off. I'm not going outta my house for anything.
I bought an Atari 2600 off of eBay awhile back. Good to get back to the basics and be flooded with all sorts of memories.
This game is gonna rock, I can feel it.
Cheerio,

I currently use my PS2 as a DVD player and for the occassional stint of GT3. Maybe Wipeout Fusion... But GT4 might be the perfect cure for the winter-time doldrums :-)

Woohoo! Glad I found this thread.

I've got some money down at GameCrazy for this already. In usual GT fashion the release date has been pushed back again, and again, and again.

So what do you guys use to play GT? The DS Controller or do you have the steering wheel?!

Hopefully for Christmas I'll have the Logitech Driving Force Pro to compliment my GT4 experience.

I just picked up the new ps2 two weeks ago. Wicked cool. So tiny.

I also got an el cheapo 39.00 wheel/pedal set-up. It sucks. I'll have to get another one. I want to have the perfect set-up for GT4. I also just got a 56" widescreen...

Ooh, that wheel's nice! I wonder what that warning sticker is telling you to not do?

I've got the game pre-ordered. Just another few weeks. I hope.
