having just brought an imported version of GT4, i've been.. .very busy

anyways, this is to those who might be getting the game and i can say this much... im very impressed, although the mini is in it, the tuning thing for it is.... weird

to start, if you got a cooper S (like i did) you cannot get any turbo up-grade, it will be only normally aspirated.. and i think they almost treat it like a na car!

ive not brought a cooper yet, but i will soon... so.. stay tune for that

there's 3 versions of the new mini, the one, the cooper and the S...

this much i can tell you guys so far.. the game ROCKS!!! nurburgring is simply nuts.. SO hard!

the nurburgring is EVIL!!! i drove down the nurburgring in a TVR tuscan and i was having so much trouble keeping the car on the track! bumpy, scary corners.. and u spent soo much time on full throttle.. i dunno how the real life people do it!

to finish it all off, lemans is in this.. there's a 24 hour endurance race involving lemans...

finally, the cooper S comes with a 5 speed, not a 6 speed... since when?

one last thing.. if you are me... IGNORE the coffee brake licence tests... they are simply idiotic

 

Sony has announced that the North American version will be released on February 22. Woo hoo!

Wonder if they'll have the MCS tranmission fixed?

Did you but the racing tranny for the MCS, thatll bump it up to 6spd.
IM sure its not gonna be totally accurate, plus 6th gear is usless for racing anyway. Whered you get the import copy from???

 

I read on IGN that if you have money saved on GT 3 that GT 4 will let you use it. Did this work for you? I hope so cause i have a boatload of money on GT3

 

well.. lets say that... i got the north american version of GT3, and the hong kong version of gt4... so no.. compatibility issues! grrrrrr

yes, got the 6 spd from racing tranny...

i got my copy of chinese GT4 from yesasia.com... a bit more expensive.. but WELL worth it...

 

I also have like millions saved up . But it wouldnt be to much fun cause then you could just basically buy any car you wanted and win just about any race. But would be something fun to save on a seperate memory card to mess around on.

 

actually, you can win alot, but you can't win them all, as some of the harder levels such as the gran turismo all star or the gran turismo world championship have you pitting against the early 90 prototypes (ie. cars with 900+ hp and weighing 500 kgs) like the Sauber C9, or the nissan R92CP, i can tell you that... it is a hard task to win them with just the modern LMPs... i had trouble winning the Toyota 88CV at cote d' azur (u knw, monte carlo) with a audi R8, they are just... BLOODY fast!

Hey, did you fully tune the Cooper S yet? How high does it tune to?

 

i didnt get my S all the way to the top hp yet... so far stage 2, comp chip, port/polish, race exhaust/intake, all throws together about 220 hp.. i think all the power mods you go gest the S to about 280hp

 

Today's the day! At least I hope it is for me. The local EB said they'd have it at 4 PM.

Looks like im haulin A$$ to best buy today! Need to get this game. The commercials are just a big freakin tease .

 

Yah. I stopped by Gamestop on the way home from work and they said after 6pm probably.

I refuse to buy from EB and I doubt normal places like Best Buy or Circuit City would have it for sale tonight. I dunno, maybe...but since they aren't a "video game place" they may get in the late shipment and just put them on the shelves tomorrow. Maybe not, who knows. CAN'T WAIT!

 

Just picked it up! Took the day off hoping I would have it in the morning, but better late then never, huh?!

I've done two arcade races so far and I must say it's pretty cool. I like the menus and the handling is much improved. The sounds are awesome too. You can pick your car by manufacturer or by era - where there's a time line that you can scroll through time with and make your choice - very cool.

Now off to do more races!! Hope you guys all get your copies soon.

That's correct. I drove the MCS in ARCADE mode. Just trying to get my license now. I see a MINI One ahead of me as part of the test.

No.

It's rumored it may be sold as an "upgrade" later on this year. The developers just really didn't want to release the game if it wasn't perfect for them. There were some kinks to work out of online play which didn't get worked out in time. I know, it was delayed for over a year...but, I don't know.

People think it will be like an add-on thing once they get it working how they want.

I called my local Gamestop and they said they are a bit delayed and won't have it until 8pm. I'll just grab it tomorrow since I've gotta crash at 9 anyway.

 

I Got my reserved Copy of GT4 a few minutes ago! SO BOOYAH! Now time to go play the MCS and see if it is a 6 speed like it should be!

 

Went to the mall, no GT4. MAybe Thursday.

I got it today. This game rocks!

 

It is! They fixed it from the Japanese version.

I was up far too late last night playing with it. Oooh, it's very good! I decided to start from scratch and not import the GT3 money, so I started with a nice used Miata.

Photo mode is incredibly cool. Seriously, I think it'll be a nice tool to use to practice my racing and auto photo stuff. I'm going to have to get one of those USB memory thingies so I can transfer the pictures to the PC.

I have a Cooper S hopped up to over 200 hp on there now, can't find a classic Mini though.
