It is interesting to note the overal length of the *****'s 2 is equal to the MINI and the wheelbase is only slightly shorter, but the track is a couple inches wider than the MINI's. Notice in the pix Ants posted, that the *****'s is a hybrid of style between the Jeepster and the Echo. Coolness.

Not sure. I agree. Dont understand why it would be on a JEEP. Ill ask my friend, he is a JEEP nut. Maybe he knows more about it. He just ordered a new Rubicon.

I don't think you'll see this on the street any time soon. From what I've read, it's electric. There's some info about it in the January Road & Track, with the Porsche Carrera GT on the cover.

As so the wings are to mount a bikes to it. Very cool. You can see the little pad below the wings where the bike wheel would rest.

The nissans are pretty cool, maybe the jeep could have the "wings" adjustable like trim on a plane
F16 Tailplane Trim
The way this one's trimmed, tho, it would be on it's way to being even with the ground...

for me, tho. I'm all about Land Rovers, if I had xcess cash, I'd get one of these
for going off-road. Can't go wrong with a hose out interior, snorkel kit and some serious suspension.

Agrred. They actually say in the article it was to bring the people from the city to the trail head. I thought it odd that they didn't say up the trail too.

Ok, let's do it at sundown. I'll bring the firing squad, cigarette, and a MINI Renegade T-shirt for a blindfold now that I figured out a good use for it

And the firing squad will shout together at once… Ride together or… the rest kind of slips my mind as so much juvenile ******** does.

But back to legitimate posting,

I definitely agree that a Land Rover Defender kicks butt against any of these pseudo-offroaders! And it is one "SUV" that looks great parked next to my MINI

A Jeep will beat the snot out of a Land Rover anyday. Rover is garbage.

However, I must admit that even a Defender 90 is not "unstoppable"

On the bright side, this one was winched back onto its wheels and after some trail maintenance to clean the oil from the cylinders it was back on the trail!

The pic does give a good opportunity to see how toughly built these things are underneath, something that the Hummer H3T is unlikely to

I'd say that depends on the particular Jeep and Land Rover being compared.

A brand new Wrangler Rubicon is fantastic and comes with nearly all mods I would want for a seriousrock-crawler. However, the Defender is designed to meet military specs and nothing Jeep offers today is suitable for battlefield conditions.

I can say that in 10 years of serious rock-crawling in Colorado and Utah, I have done some of the most hard-core trails and have never had a Jeep beat the snot out of me and my winch has been used more often to recover a Jeep than myself or another Land Rover.

But why argue about it when we can meet up sometime when you can bring your Land-Rover-Snot-Beating Jeep out and take on me in my Defender. . . .

Just tell me when and where you would like to beat the snot out of a Land Rover and I will be there
