Ford claims its new revo knuckle suspension + new trick LSD can put down 301ps + 302 lb-ft of torque on 235/19/35 Conti Sport Contact 3 without any problems. So far all reviews on this RS Ford are very positive.
How much ("Fun") can the future Mini handle?

Same here... I'm very sure that car would give the MINI a serious run for its money fun-factor wise. Nothing but insane reviews about it. We won't get it here for sure... too much fun for little money. It'd compromise sales.
Maybe coming to the US
do a google search on "ford focus rs coming to the us". You'll find posts like this which indicate it may be coming. Ford already has plans to bring the european feista over to america. This article claims the RS as well!!

It won't be cheap.
This article also talks about the european ford focus and fiesta vehicles coming to the us in 2010, the RS may follow along.

Euro price for the RS around 25000 lbs, or 38,000 dollars.

I like this car! A friend of mine back in my home country (Cyprus) plans to get one of these, so I will have a chance to take it out for a test drive when I visit home later this year. If this car comes to the US, it would have to compete with cars like BMW 135I and Subaru Impreza WRX STI, so I am guessing the price would probably be in the $35k to $40k range.

I really like the RS (and the color), and have also read a few months ago that Ford was considering bringing it to the US. The only thing I dont really like about it is you're still driving a Ford Focus, just with a turbo. Same thing I dont like about a Srt-4 or Cobalt SS, yea they're all fast, but its still a Neon or Cobalt.

The other car that does the same trick is MB CLK63 AMG Black (DTM Touring Car on street).

Not so sure. I followed a link on today's usa today page. The ford fiesta is already on the us ford page. Nice looking in hatchback form. I could see driving one. Ford has a contest in going to get 100 people driving the fiesta and reporting on it. Perhaps the European version of the focus will follow, the articles I've seen indicated it might.
