Wasn't there a dude in a Cobra who almost ate in there a few weeks back? Or is that the same thing and I'm just confused? Either way, sucks to be him but it could have been a lot worse, IMO. Other than the emotional pain.

Well, the car looked well-poised as it wiped out.

his dumb ego was the cause.

could be anything... gravel on the road, im balance of the axles, bearings,
sus setting in consistency, his fat(?) butt on one side, etc. etc. etc.

I hope it was a real one and the guy learns not to hot dog for teeny boppers in the crowd. his ego > his car > his driving ability.

my dad wants to get an FFR Replica. As much as I'd love to have one at my disposal, I always show him these vids and try to reinforce these cars aren't good for much more than Sunday cruises.

yah, hope he gets his car fixed soon. i guess you never learn these
things until it happens to you... the hard way.

ive been pretty careful but also been pretty lucky too... ive had my
share of close calls. but learned early on.

I saw this live.

He gets the car 90% straight and hits the gas, the back end starts to step out, so he chops the throttle and corrects (steers into the slide), only to find the chopped throttle is causing oversteer the opposite way. Applies a little power to see if it would come back, but then he simply runs out of road surface and crashes.

shame to watch it, i love those cars. from what i have heard, FFR replicas (and potentially real ones) enjoy lift throttle oversteer. you actually need to use the gas to correct the slide.

on a side note, i LOL'ed a little when he drove off in the end, didnt even get out to check the ride out.

Ok that makes perfect sense .Or maybe the weight of all those stickers on the front .Other than the bent rim do you know what other damage was done ?Oh and was this an original or a copy ?

Damage was 'bad'

I have heard that the frame was (badly?) bent, the body damaged (cracked), gearbox casing cracked, two wheels trashed etc.

He has not re-appeared at the event as far as I can tell, I am not sure he would be that welcome, generally the feeling is that you should show your car, you can entertain with a little 'display of acceleration', but if you screw up and put the event in jeopardy, you are not welcome.

Car was not original - the guy would have been beaten by the mob had it been

I think that happened the day I made it to the show-I was gone by then but the his show of lack of driving skill put the whole thing into jeopardy. I'm glad it has continued-too bad about his car. In the video there is something that fell off and the cyclist at the end picked it up and was taking it to the owner that stopped just around the bend. I guess he was trying to make a get away from his embarassment. See the tag? CNC SNKE- I hope he didn't a custom tag for CNC?

Hey, don't mean to go OT here but if you could get her to pose on the car it might make him feel a little better.
