True Driving – NO BS
True Driving – NO BS
You may have seen this before, maybe not. The bottom line is many talk about their exploits behind the wheel of a car, this person proves it.

Easier said than done, Ken ! This isn't the Skyline Drive in the family station wagon we're talking about here.
I don't know which I'd rather do, if I had to do one... this ride, or THIS one:

I'd love to see any of the "banked, paved left turns only" NASCAR drivers try to drive the WRC courses. Every time I hear a NASCAR fan comment on how amazing their favorite NASCAR driver is, I have to bite my tongue... I really want to say "compared to you, sure!".
I am curious though how well the top drifting drivers would do in a WRC situation. Probably not too bad since they're used to sliding their cars all over the place (although with RWD on pavement, not AWD on dirt, rocks & snow...).
Pikes is extreme.
Great vids. Yes, Pike's Peak is a rabbid place to drive, but people both super-pro and novice alike keep coming back.
I have a friend who is a MINI driver as well as Vintage Racer who took his circle track midget racer to Pikes one year, he said it was fun, fatiguing and scary as all hell. He placed well for his class, but never again.
Some one mentioned the drifters, I think they would do well too.
Try this link for a little article of a super drifter at PP.
Btw, this is one race to watch but you have to watch your own fatigue, too. The mountain can get you very fast.

Didn't Gordon trade seats with an F1 driver for a day just to get the feel of a real race car? I can only imaginw what that must have been like for him. "Duh, why am I going so slow at 8,000 RPM? Why do I not have a shifter? Which way is the one that's not left? These brakes must be locking up. Its stopping way too fast. I can say I raced a red Mustang. This nice red car has a big horsey on the side."
Wanna see some driving on blacktop that is just rediculous? Check out Senna in a NSX, complete with leather shoes and white socks. Not exactly driving gear.

LOL that's OK... and it is interesting... but sndwave/Pat's original post was pointing out just how talented the WRC drivers are.
