Thats not a drifting event, it's an Autocross.

This has been posted 2 times on NAM in various areas already.

What kinda cheap studs was he using? Or did he tighten them too much?

I wonder if he passed on the torque wrench because he thought it was too expensive??? I also wonder if his friends now call him flounder??!!

That was actually at an SCCA autocross. The idiot had the wrong lugs nuts on the wheels, and cross threaded them with an electric impact wrench. Stripped everything.

Yah. Most folks that use those at an event know to get them well started by hand, and then zap them with the impact wrench. He probably only got a couple threads started, and hit it with the wrench. Killed the threads.
