OMG! That was YOU!!! I totally forgot about that!

 

Thanks to everyone for a great run Saturday night. Special thanks to Nikki for being the organizer/muse for the event. Attracting 5-0 to coit tower was great. The last cop just looked stunned when MINI's kept coming by!

I even liked getting caught in a SF box canyon. good thing we have small cars.

Looking forward to more runs and getting to know more people now that we live in the city again.

Yep. I'm also known at the event as "you're that guy from the video". At least three people came up to me and said that.

 

So did you see the big red Pickup truck do the burnie? We were at the stop sign at the top of the hill just after leaving Beach Chalet. It was right after you stopped next to me. I was just waiting for you to adjust his attitude. Probably better that we ignored him though. We already had enough attention from the cops in the Great Highway parking lot and then again at Coit Tower and along the way.

Sheesh and here I was thinking we were stirring up the rednecks. I guess it is good they didn't come on the ride in that thing.

Did the cops chase you out of the parking lot, too? I saw them rousting things up over there while I was sitting int he Beach Chalet lot... I had thought it was just a midnight curfew for the beach, but hey. We are a threatening high-risk group to be allowed to loiter around at unseemly hours...

 

They asked me to move on. I think it was just curfew. I didn't want them to get on to us once they saw that we were a swarming bunch of Maverick Minis. They got a radio call at Coit. Probably because we overfilled the lot. Three of them turned up that I saw. Passed two cars when going down the hill. We passed a few along the way that had cars pulled over. I was just waiting for them to start tailing us.

 

Well, they certainly came to break up the part at Coit, sure, I just didn't know if they were clearing US, or EVERYONE< out of the beach lot. It IS funny that 5 cops came to eject us from Coit, near all those fine properties, but over at Twin peaks radio tower lot, we were coolin with the crackheads and teens without incident. Jerks. Man, that tower gives me a massive headache every time I'm there.

 

Yeah, I found that rather odd myself (5 squad cars at Coit, but nothing at TP where there clearly *could* have been issues) - but hey what do I know about SF???

What you forget is that Coit tower is lined with multi million dollar homes where in live rich and influential people who have the chief of police and the mayor's home number. Twin peaks is some where out in the boonies (for S.F.) and darkly lit. The cops don’t want to go all the way out there and risk a confrontation with the low life’s. :impatient

 

Ha!! <ROFL> "Maverick Minis", I like that. Makes me picture us as a posse...like the Hell's Angels, but in tiny cars with cute colors.

I think someone in a Big Expensive House near Coit Tower must have phoned up the 5-0, complaining about a bunch of terrorists shining lights on the tower. Heck - probably planting explosives to blow it to smithereens as a way to announce they are going to take over the city. Holy Batman!!

Yup - that's us - Mini Terrorists.....VROOOOM VROOOM...watch out!!!

 

Sounds like a great time. I've been trying to get the MINIcaching started... maybe we can get this facilitated!?!?!?

I may have to make that run too, but it all depends.

I went throgh my pictures, most of them suck cause it was night out and we weren't still long enough to get out all the gear. oh well....

 

San Francisco has a special system for bringing the police. At Coit Tower a phone call will do it, at Twin Peaks a few gun shots get the job done. It is possible that the police didn't see us going up Twin Peaks.

 

Uhh... No offense, but I still have the image of the Pink Shirt BURNED into my brain. I'd much rather see Stoopidgirl wearing it!

Sorry you missed it. This was one run to remember!!!

 

Ok time to start planning the next one people My MINI WILL be running again by the beginning of July at the latest and I'm gonna be anxious to go on a run. I'm serious this time

No seriously.... I ordered a Webb Motorsports intake, new spark plugs and rear brake rotors, a new supercharger runner, ecu housing, and throttle body bracket..... oh, and a new engine wiring harness. Just waiting on the stuff to get here now

 

Let me know if you want some help installing everything if you are gonna do it yourself.

 

And I'll watch and drink beer. Not necessarily in that order.

Then Wil and I can rochambeau for who gets to drive JCampos on the run.
