SF midnight run
Thanks to Nikki and all who put this run together. Lot's of fun.
Who planned the weather and views? Nice job.
No burned up clutches. No tickets. No arrests.
Michael Leonard, great job keeping us all on track. I know that's not easy. You did a great job.
Thom (thirdraildesignlab), thanks for all your guidence. Having local knowledge sure helped.
Next time up to Coit Tower, we need a bag of Wenchels donuts.
Just wish I had more time to meet everyone.
Victor, Corey & I all got back to our hotel about 3AM. Enjoyed the Giants game with Vic, Corey, Michael, and Karen. No Barry home run, but a good game. Christopher (Starlord) sent his best to all. He was at the game too, but was unable to make the run.
Made for a long day, but well worth every minute.

eVal, those are great pix!! The Lombard St. photos are fabulous!
It was great fun, and although I didn't get to meet all of you, I look forward to another SF adventure in the future. Thanks Nikki, and whoever else did the work to set this up. You guys did a truly awesome job!

I took some shots at night, but this is the only one that came out decent. It's Hong (I hope I spelled your name right - sorry if not!) lighting up Coit Tower with his highbeams!
Too bad the cops came by before we had a chance to do it collectively!

Hey Melanie, don't show it, the cops are after me. Johnny Law must be thinking, who the idiot lighted up coit tower in the midnight, let's check out and get him arrested. sorry for attracting them.
So what's the head count of Mini? I guess it's around 30. There were a couple standing near Chinatown&broadway counting as we passed by, I heard she counted 8 on me, should have stopped and asked for the official number.
Some crappy photos from my little Pentax. I was planning to take pictures of everybody's plate number, a good idea but I completely forgot it, sigh.

who did these boys ride with? hope they enjoy the 2hour guided sightseeing of SF.

a mini traffic jam near twin peaks (twin peaks blvd?) remember what happened on this one way rd?

not photoshoped!

Thanks Maverick Mini's and especially to Nikki who pulled off this awesome event! That was a very cool run and I'd do it again. Lots of places to see and roads to motor on. You guys rock. The pace was great and neat twisties to stretch my MINIs "legs" on. I'm so jealous of you Bay area people...you've got some nice twistie roads. eVal: nice pix! and thanks to the others who posted theirs as well. BTW, my brother and sister had a great time...being their first time around MINI groupies and all, they had a blast. Great memories had by all.
it's funny, we have great roads and sights, but so rarely get to utilize them this way, thanks to the lights, tourists, fuzz, and poor road maintenance. But despite all that, it was still awesome to have strength in numbers, tooling around the neighborhood. As my co-pilot declared: "now we know how many Minis it takes to close down Coit Tower." ha
I don't know what the "official" count was for this run, but I know it was over 30. I'd bet 35+. Just count them in the pics, then add Wil at Twin Peaks.
Wil is a die hard, he will always show, not matter what time.

My buddy in the passenger seat claimed 33+ but he was never certain, as we were caboosin it.
My favorite fuzz quote was from the last cop, parked all the way around to the other side of the roundabout, in the statue-most lane. He had his hands up and said "OK, whos' got the weed?!" and it cracked me up. I mean, that's ONE way to go about it...

Very nice pics everyone! Thanks for organizing as always, Nikki. Lots of fun. Looking forward to the next one.
We'll have to do longer twisty roads next time so people can test out their new treats from the pulley party. :D

Time will tell! She did love the concept in general, and took a singular delight in spying the loooong line of Minis stretching across North Beach on the slow approach to Coit Tower. One advantage to being in the back is that you see the scope of it.
The next one I may just bring my co-pilot again, or even go solo, so's I can actually lean into it...

I think I need to get my alignment done from that pothole just before the Broadway tunnel!!!
Most of the roads we were on SUCKED!!! They need some major street work done!!! The Beach Chalet had awesome food and it was good to meet new MINI folks.

If you want great roads, join us on the REME Shasta Run. Great twisties, elevation changes from 0 to 6000 ft and back again, and smooth paved roads.....but FAST!!!!!! From Friday 6/23AM thru Sunday 6/25 PM we will travel over 900 miles.
Sorry but I had to put in a plug for this run. I think you guys will love it. Still time to sign up.

However, I doubt he'll be coming out for the Shasta run. On a side note, have you ever drank Shasta cola? Is that stuff still around?
