Need someone to install H-Sport lowering springs

Hello Mini enthusiasts,

I just purchased some H-Sport lowering springs and I need someone to install them. A few local shops have quoted me over 500 bucs to put them in. I just can't afford that. I can pay but I'm hoping I can pay less then half of that.

I'm based out of San Jose and am willing to travel as far north as Sacramento since I am there every other weekend.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks Xalfa,

I'll be sure to give them a ring.

Has anybody had any suspension work done there?

If your coming as far south as San Diego the Mod Squad will do them for free. We (actually they as I just buy the pizza) had done four or five sets of springs, sway bars front/rear, short shifters, brakes, etc. and just like working on MINIs.

You could drive down and back for less than $500.00

Got time?

Talk to Pete at Tires and Wheels in San Jose, 408 259 4460. He installed my H Sports and Madness rear sway bar.

Provide me with beer and a garage and we can do this ourselves, if you dont mind gettin your hands a bit dirty of course. I have installed all of my current mods (including H-sport springs, sway bar, and control arms) so I know the installation process well.

I enjoy working on the cars and I will do it for supercheap (like I said, Id even accept just some beer... but good stuff... no MGD or Bud...) I live in Santa Clara (101 and Montague) so you are pretty damn close to me. Let me know if this is an option youd consider.

If you dont have a garage or you dont want to help on the install, my step-dad and I can do it in Tracy. We have all the necessary tools to do the job properly. We will do it for $200.

I haven't, but they built this, so I think they know what they're doing...

But really, Ive installed everything on my car (cept for some body work on the front lower aero grill... thanks james ). Im just tryin to help him out... I know how it is to sit there and stare at the springs and just imagine them on the car. $500 is outrageous.... it would probably take us 1-1.5 hours to get all 4 on. I dont see why it would take a shop 6 or so hours (im going by the usual $75/hour) to install them

Lyle (lagston on here) had his suspension installed there. I was going to but decided I could to it myself. He charged around $500 for the springs and swaybar I believe.

Thanks everybody

Hey every body!

I appreciate the replies --- its touch to get online with my workload lately. My springs and swaybar are still sitting in their box. BUT the good news is my new SSR Comp R are sitting pretty on the Mini. And the Fuzion 205/50/16's are riding sticky and soft. Much confidence I have during my commute even with all the crappy rain. The car accelerates and brakes so much differently in a good way, it really does feel like a different animal.

I have not had much time to consider my options. My cousin contacted his buddies on the RSX forums and one offered, but it would much better to work with a fellow MINI enthusiast.

10851cs --- San Diego would be a nice drive....... but I problably won't be to take such a trip for at least a few months, and it's tough to wait so long. I AGAIN appreciate the offer guys.

gosharks --- thanks for the suggestion

jcampos --- i'll send you a pm

Motor safely everybody - the rain sucks!!

I work right by where you live (right next door to great america theme park at the nortel buildings). I don't know any other mini guys in the area and would love to meet up one day. I'm also mechanically inclined and would love to help if needed. I have a 2004 DS/B with 19's on it.

Let me know
