Hi All,

I'm happy to say, I made it home in one piece and ticket free and I hope the rest of you did too.

Special thanks to MINI Queen for making it happen, Lori, you are the best.

To everyone else that was there, you were a great bunch to hang out with and I hope I can make it to the next meet.

X2

I had a great time too, it was nice seeing Harmini, Kool Mini, and Weekend Racer also meeting new people. Sorry to say though that Lori DID get pulled over on the way home by that damn trooper in the Ford Exploder who tried to get us on the way up!! Guess he just had to ticket a MINI.

That Bastard, Lori I hope it was just a written warning. Were you guys running similar speeds on the way back and how many cars in the convoy?

Lori was in a convoy of four, I was ahead of them and almost got nailed by that same trooper. luckily I was stuck behind a slow ford, so he saved me. I was gunna call Lori and that convoy on my cell to warn them, but I figured they were so far behind that by the time they had got to that point the trooper wouldnt be there. Low and behold, I get a call from someone else in the convoy that she was pulled over.

Oh, Poor Lori. I hope she did get away with a warning, if not just a roadside interogation. I wonder if she explained to the trooper how utterly unsafe his vehicle is.

Yeah. I made it home safely. Followed a certain indie blue S down the Taconic til I hit 199E. Would have loved to have had a pack of MINIs on that road!

Thanks all involved. Lori, Mercedes especially. I really enjoyed myself. It's always worth crossing the border to see great folks and tons of MINIs . WOW!! What was the count?

Made it home safely too. Was following "THEDUKE" for a short while on the Taconic south bound. That SUV trooper was pulling back into position as I was passing him. I just waved as I passed him . Sorry to hear that Lori got pulled over but that guy was just looking to avenge the morning when he couldn't even get out on the road to pull us over if he wanted to.

It was good to meet all the new people yesterday. Fun bunch. Going to see how the pictures turned out shortly.

Have fun and be safe in Deal's Gap to those that are going!

I took 199E too, but most of my fun was ruined by a F350 pickup, I finally got past him on a short uphill passing zone, but it was just 2 miles from the 44E intersection

Thanks to everyone who made yesterday a success! I think everyone had a fantastic time. We had a total of 42 MINI (a few down from the last meet). Additional thanks to my crew: Anthony (ANTSMINI) for leading the pack, Joe, Mercedes, and Freda for cooking. I am already thinking about the next Meet.

Lori AKA "MINIQUEEN"

P.S. I did make it home safely, despite being pulled over.

Thanks Lori! It was a great time! What a nice park that was too! I really enjoyed it.
Great picture Dandp! (I wish I was in it!) We left a little early, and went over to Hudson and visited with some friends that just moved up to that area, (catskill, NY) we ended up driving down I87 to I84 and went home that way. It was a boring drive compared to the taconic, but 65mph speed limits, and yet it was still very boring which made it seem longer! Sorry to hear you got pulled over Lori! Looking forward to the next one!

What a day!!!! We made it home safe thanks to Poohbear letting me trail behind as the last MINI out of the park. We saw Lori pulled over and I felt just awful that out of all of us, she was the one they nabbed. Lori and her crew did a great job of organizing this. Thanks!!! It was great to meet all of you: X2Board and his son Brandon, Mark, Paul, the veggie burger girl from Ct. (sorry i forgot your name), as well as some familiar faces from the last meet. Here are the best two shots I got from the day.

Here are some shots that I got yesterday.

About half way through the line up procedure the reds are picking on the pepperwhites

A shot during the photo session from out of the sunroof.

A shot of the sunset as I was coming over the bridge back into PA (notice all the dead bugs on the windshield).

Great pictures Driving_Hamster. Thanks for being the navigator for the lost Jersey MINIs and thanks for lending out your radios. That was awesome when I watched you pull handfulls of them from your boot. How did you end up with so many???

I see the Chili Reds picking on the Pepper Whites, but what the photo doesn't show is that on the other side of the PWs was a whole pack of Indi Blues ready to kick some Chili red butt if they messed with you. That's my Silk Green at the left, watching the whole thing.

Thanks!! I always thought I sucked as a photographer, but since I got my MINI and this new camera, I've been getting some really good pictures. Maybe it's because the MINIs are just so photogenic.

I love the BIG panoramic shot you did. One of the best I've seen so far.

I just remembered something very important to tell all of you. DO THE BRAKE LIGHT MOD!!!! Following behind those that hadn't done this, I was able to see just how weak the stock brake lights are. It was the worst on the Chili Reds. With a little sunglare, you could barely see the brake lights go on. This simple mod is the easiest thing you can do to improve your safety.

I actually have a total of 10 FRS and FRS/GMRS radios. We use them for skiing, mountain biking, hiking, etc. I forgot I threw them in my boot until that point. They would of came in handy on the trek from the Summerfield suites. At the very least I could of threw one of them at the 18 wheeler that cut me off in NY!

Harmini,

The panoramic's original file size is 3008x1960 pixels @ 72 DPI, or 41"x27" @ 72 DPI. I did crop it, but if anyone is interested, I can post a high resolution version @ 300 DPI for printing. I may try to make a big print at work since I have some high-end gear in the office. Thanks for the compliment. I never shoot as much as these things as I should...I had a 6 hour photo shoot Saturday night, so I may have been a bit burnt out

Hey All! MiniVee and I had a great time! Nice to meet you all. I can't stop telling everyone about how cool it was to watch 42 minis take over the Taconic! We missed you all on the drive home. It just wasn't as fun.

Thanks again for everyone who made it possible! Great pics, by the way. I will load some of my own soon too!

Dandp,

I would love to see a high resolution version of this. I am looking for a new shot to go above my desk and a panoramic mini picture would work great. Thanks for taking it!
