Haha I just stumbled across this thread. I had a great time getting together at Famous Daves. Good food and good people. What more could you ask for? Good pics also Josh. I found my car in a couple of your pics in your flikr account.

P.S. Ian - Thank you very much, and I love the GP. That was the first time I have seen one in person. My favorite thing about them are the guage faces.

LoL, kinda funny how the NE NAM forum is so quiet most of the time...

So true Chris, I usually go on NAM to research and read funny/entertaining threads... or the marketplace.
Perhaps we should keep posting events over here, just to get more activity. I feel we are missing a good chunck of the NE demographic.

Back in the old days of 2002, this (MINIcooperOnline) was the place to be ...

What changed it for me was the feature that MINI2 had to send an email when a thread updated - it kept reminding you to go back and chat and in the old days, MCOL didn't do that.
Now of course, NAM sends email updates too!

Sorry for my ignorance, but I am a Nebie
. What's OSMC and M|U? What's the best place to go to look for events and happenings with mini's for New England (New Hampshire)? I noticed there is a bunch of mini forums. When I had the S2K, it was easy, there was really only one site to go. Everyone funneled to one place.
thanx,
dave

Make sure to visit MINI2 though Dave; it's where most of the local "action" is

Yeah, for events there wont be anything for out here on motoring underground. Its just a good group of pepole on there. Ocean State Mini Club has events and gatherings though in the MA/Ct/RI/NH areas.

I just like the name you use for "in the beginning", by no means was I trying to make it sound like it was "a long time ago".
I think we are too, but I also think that all these segmented forums confuse and intimidate most people from jumping in, and that's why I've always encouraged just one. It really kills me when people miss events because they were mentioned on one of the other smaller forums. Plus they go against our welcoming all nature by making them feel like an exclusive club. I know it is not the actual case, but it feels that way to newbies. Remember the whole flag argument. And the nymini debacle. So I've never posted much over here or on nemini or osmc, and when I do I am sure to send people to the center (and friendliest) of them all at mini2.
I'm in NAM once every day for its great technical discussions, but I go into mini2 several times a day to chat with friends.

Being a newbie, it's a matter of knowing where to go as well...I googled for Mini forums and only came up with Mini2 and NAM. I didn't know of OSMC and M|U (heh! look at me throwing the acronyms around! I don't even have a Mini yet
) So is it pretty much the same people hopping from site to site?
