Lake Placid Fall Rally

WingNut Industries inspired by Bombay Sapphire is proud to announce
The 37th Annual Lake Placid Fall MINI Rally!!!
October 8, The Sunday before Columbus Day

This years run will begin in Boonville, NY and run through the scenic highways and back roads of the Adirondacks. Enjoy the full bloom of fall colors while motoring in your MINI. Your host will be the barely known and under-appreciated WingNut. The run will take 3 to 4 hours depending on fall traffic, bathroom breaks, and deer dodging - ending in Lake Placid NY, where all participants are invited to enjoy a late lunch at Goldberrys.
Many lodging possibilities can be found in Lake Placid. Book today!

Our start time will be Noon from Boonville's Headwaters Shopping Plaza.
Burger King, 13187 State Route 12, Boonville, NY, 13309 (just updated this address, the location is still the same... the last address ceased to come up on direction searches)
Among the amenities of the Boonville Plaza you will find; fast food, groceries, hardware supplies, prescription drugs, and gasoline. All the ingredients to a fun day!

Please Post Questions and Comments here.
If so inclined, I may respond to them!

Cheers!
See you there!

What a coincidence! I'll already be in Lake Placid that weekend. But I am not sure that I'll be able to participate in this run. I'm also not sure I'll even have my MINI with me.

I may at least be able to see you all arrive in style!

I'll let you know if I can figure out a way to do the drive.

I would be more than happy to help you with out for your Lake Placid Rally.

Here is a sample of what I've come up with for the Essex, NY > Charlotte, VT Covered Bridge Tour and could be done as a small sticker, static cling, rallye plate (for garage fodder), T-Shirt, or sweatshirt design.

Hey Wingnut!! I will also be attending this wonderful event... but I will be meeting you there... somewhere... There are some sweet routes on the Albany side of the state. There are a few Albany area MINI owners interested so hopefully they will be able to join me. See you for the Keeler MINI event tomorrow!

So, is this rally officially going to happen? This thread has been quite a bit quieter than I thought it would be.

WingNut, let us know if it's still a go. Thanks.

Google does not find this address, any more definative street, or will it be obvious when we get there ?!

Sorry I'm going to miss this because it's right in my backyard. Still waiting for the delivery of my GP but next year count me in. Thanks Steve

Hmmm? I just did the search with Mapquest and it didn't show up either, which is strange cause it did show up originally (about a month ago).

Anyway, it's easy to find. It's right on route 12 (Utica Blvd is route 12), and Headwater's Plaza is marked well and is the first plaza (and only) when you first get to Boonville (via 12 North). Just look for the Burger King!

In the meantime I will try and find a better address to use...

So glad you're coming!
See you tomorrow!
Cheers,
Ken

OK!
This is a new address for the exact same place! And as of right now, Mapquest is acknowledging it:
Burger King, 13187 State Route 12, Boonville, NY, 13309

Wow! Nice pictures Jim!
I'm stealing some to use in other threads about the run... guess my broken camera doesn't matter that much after all!

It was great to have you two with us! It should also be noted that Rosie tracked down the excellent restaurant for us in Lake Placid. It turns out that my restaurant from last year has been actually torn down and is being remodeled! I'd say the whole run was a group effort!

Sabrina and I had a terrific time!
Cheers!

Thanks again Ken, and there are a few more "scenery" type pictures in my gallery that I did not post in the thread.

Hey Brew,

As you can see from the post I decided at the last minute to go, basically due to the weather forcast I heard Sat. AM...it sounded to good to miss, and Rosie's brother lives in Lake Placid and was able to snag the last available room in LP for Sunday nite.

The place was really hopping Sun and Mon with all the leaf peepers, climbers and hikers taking advantage of low 80 temps and sun.
