Out-of-state ticket affecting insurance rate?

I reside in Boston, MA. I got a ticket over the weekend in Rhode Island. The cop told me if I don't have any moving violation within 3 years and have a proof of it (like driving record from RMV), they will dismiss my ticket. I know I don't have any ticket last 4 years.

Does out-of-state ticket affect my insurance rate/ point? If it does, I will apeal. If not, I am just gonna pay the fine ($75) and get it over with. Any ticket/ insurance experts? Thanks.

That all depends upon the reciprocity agreement between the 2 states.

I've gotten the same type of ticket. If your a good boy or girl, it goes away.

If the fine gets paid, Expect it to show up in your state. Then its up to your insurance company as to how much it goes up. For example, mine says the first one is free. NOT the second one.

I am gonna have to call up my insurance company, and ask them to make sure it's okay.

I live in CT. I got a speeding ticket less than 2 years ago in MN.
Just this month I was signing up for new insurance and they asked about history, including glass. I stated I had two windshield claims, one in 2002 and one in 2004. They said oh you forgot another one in 2003, but no mention of a speeding ticket.

Tickets from California affected my Maryland insurance premium, so I would say yes.

But some states also have a program where attending a driving school (California even has online ones) can wipe the ticket off your record, even if you pay the fine.

On one trip out west, I got two tickets in two weeks, MN and Ohio. Nothing came on the MD license but the insurance went up. Yup Actually
