Are there plans to build more than 4 MINI dealers in New England??

I find it odd that there are not more dealers?
None in NH, RI, ME, or VT????

Does anyone know where to find out if there are plans for more dealers?

I dont know but i feel your pain. There's only one in the whole state of michigan. Granted i go to connecticut this weekend to pick up my new toy but servicing it is gonna be a royal pain unless a few more start to pop up. If your in the hartford area this friday around midday stop by new country bmw/mini we can shoot the proverbial breeze

I've heard of no plans for a dealership in VT, and neither has my BMW dealer. Makes sense when you consider our entire state has only 600k people in it...most cities are bigger than that!

Well, there is Manchester, Concord and Keene in NH. RI has over a million people. ME is ME.

It just doesn't make business sense. People are deterred because of this. I have a friend who told me wouldn't buy a MINI because of the lack of dealers.

For what it is worth...

I'm from Maine...back before I purchased my MCS (from Peabody) last October, I emailed MINIUSA and asked whether there were any plans to open a dealership in ME or NH...their reply was something to the affect that they were quite interested in doing so, but didn't have anything immediately in the plans.

I'm sure you've heard this before, but as far as service is concerned, you can't beat MINI of Peabody. I've had nothing but fantastic service, and everyone is just so darn nice and helpful there. Their great service more than makes up for the 80+ miles I travel to get there.

That is reassuring.

I just find it odd that, with some people travelling over 200 miles in other parts of the country, when something happens and Roadside assistance is called they will tow the car 200 miles to a dealer.
Doesn't seem cost effective.

Oh well, I digress.....

Back to the Lounge waiting on start of production.

Here's the reason. MINI decided how many cars they were going to export to the USA. They figured out how many dealerships they needed here to sell that many such that the dealerships would stay in business. If they opened a bunch more dealerships but didn't sell any more cars per year, each dealership would sell fewer cars and probably not make enough profit to stay afloat.

Once they increase the number of cars being imported to a certain level, then perhaps there will be more dealerships opened.

Something in Manchester would be awesome, but Peabody is fine with me for now. From what I've read around multiple msg boards, they've got one of the best reputations out of the entire US.
