Dyno Day - Providence, RI

When: September 11, 9am
Where: Yarrowsport, Thurston St to the end, Providence, RI 02907
How much: $65.00 for 3 runs on the Dyno, or $50 if there more then 10 MINIs.

Directions
From 95 South:
Take exit 17
Trun Left onto Elmwood Ave.
Right onto Thurston St.

From 95 North:
Take exit 16 - toward Cranston
Take the Elmwood Ave. exit
Right at the end of the off ramp
Right onto Thurston St.

Yesterday I visited Yarrowsport in Providence, RI. Yarrowsport is a performance and service shop that is interested in the MINI. They now service a few MINIs in the area but would like to get some more in there. After seeing the shop and meeting the owner I was very impressed. We talked a lot and decided that we should have some type of meet and greet at his shop. Yarrow suggested we have a Dyno Day...

So... I would like to know if anyone would be interested in a Dyno Day at Yarrowsport? A dyno is a way to measure the Horse Power and Torque of you car. If anyone is interested in a RI service shop it would be a great opportunity for you to check out the shop and meet the owner.

The cost for the Dyno is $65.00 for three runs but if we get enough MINIs it will drop to $50.00.

Bentley Publishing will also be there to promote their new MINI service manual. Yarrowsport will be seeling the manual which is normally $99.95 for $89.95... that's $10.00 off! If you cannot attend but would still like a manual please contact me for info.

Send me a PM or post here if you are interested in something like this. Let me know if you would just be hanging out or getting on the Dyno.

Nice... It will be good to see you again.

I didn't get to see you before I left the pulley party. My upgrades rock! Thanks for the party . I'm sure everyone will want to put the mods to the test on the Dyno.

OH no worries! My pleasure!

Yes it's put up time for the mods! I KNOW the mods added something, especially above 4K rpms but how much is the question. I love the sound of the CAI in a tunnel! awesome!

I'm curious as to what my $ spent at the Hartford pulley party yielded in terms of HP. Count me in!

OK everyone...

I spoke with Yarrow today and got some stuff to tell you.

1. As long as 10 MINIs show the price will be $50.00 (We currently have 15 MINIs)
2. I was going to do a BBQ but after I thought about it I decided to scratch that idea. I think people will want to come and go without me saying "You better not think of leaving without eating a hotdog!" We can always get pizza

3. Bentley Publishing will be there with their MINI. They will have 50 copies of the new MINI manual! The retail price of the manual is $99.95 dollars but because Yarrow is the man he will be discounting that price $10.00. That's right people the MINI manual for $89.95... instant gratification.

If you would like a service manual but cannot make it to the event please contact me or call Yarrowsport @ 401.461.9333.

So come on down, hang out and meet Yaroow and Bentley Publishing.

You can bring the Audi... we also have a Impala SS coming... but the MINIs will have priority on the Dyno...

The charge is different for AWD... normally $95.00 but because of the large group it will only be $80.00. Good price for a AWD Dyno

I hope to see you there!

Look forward to seeing you again. The wheels must be sweet

I'm just hoping to have my car back by then... I was in a accident on Sunday... while I was heading down a side street some guy pulled out of a driveway into the drivers side of my car.

The difference after ditching the runflats is amazing. Less road noise, much better grip and the ride isnt as harsh

Thats awful about the accident. I take it everyone was okay?

I'm interested, but have a few ?'s: with 15 people signed up, how long does each run take? Like the Hartford pulley party ,will there be times set up for each person to sign up for? Does this dyno produce #'s @ the wheel ,or the flywheel?I too would love to know what Randy's magic produced ,and I need to be able to show Andy The numbers .If it would be easier and less trouble ,PM me the answers to these questions.Hey Bisch, are you going to be there to let me see what I missed by not going all the way with a 19% pulley-YOU PROMISED ("you know you want it.........") It's always fun to see faces and learn real names(screen names have their place, but SO impersonal)

I have been told by Yarrow that each car will take roughly 15 minutes. There will not be a schedule for runs. Everything starts at 9am.. I need people there at 9 but if you can not come until 10 or 11 thats cool... but try for 9am.

The dyno provides data from the wheels.

Hope to see you there

BTW - Ian Cull (GBMINI) will be there with his Auto Up Circuit.

PRICES:
AUTO UP ONLY $39.50
TRACK MODE DSC $42.00
SWITCHED GARAGE DOOR OPENER $47.00
POWERED GARAGE DOOR OPENER $52.00

All versions have auto-up windows which can be enabled or disabled as you choose. Auto-up is triggered by a "double click" of the window up switch to avoid accidental operation. The circuit simply mimics holding the toggle switch closed for 6s; the MINIs detection of objects trapped in the window is not very sensitive. Do not use auto-up windows with anything in the window - recommend not to use auto-up windows with children, pets, etc. Track mode DSC is also enabled/disabled as required. Garage door opener versions connect to your existing opener and trigger it when the door lock toggle switch is held up OR down for more than half a second. If you are interested in purchasing one please let me know... I will give you his info.

According to MapQuest, Yarrowsport is on Hathaway St., not Thurston Ave.. Can you confirm the directions for us. BTW the Bentley Manual looks excellent, I saw a copy up at Lime Rock this past weekend.

Thanks,

That's the mailing address but the entrance is on Thurston... Heads up, the street is poorly marked.
