Dyno Day - Providence, RI
Unfortunately I am unable to attend this weekend. I have a family commitment.
(I would have got a ton of grief blowing it off for a mini event) I really wanted to see what the dyno numbers would be like..But hopefully I'll get to see you all at some of the other functions.

If anybody that is going to Saturday's dyno day happens to have an extra "wheel lug bolt" lying around could you bring it with you? I lost one this past week and can't find any locally. I swapped out brake pads last weekend and thought that I re-torqued all the bolts......
Thanks

glad to hear you got your mini back in time, rich. just got done with a late night m7 springs install with kenny-twoturbos1mission (pics/how-to shortly in the performance mod-suspension section). See you all tomorrow bright and early!
For anyone who hung around long enough, my A4 dyno'd 134.4 whp and 162.2 wtq. Very low results, much lower than I was expecting. I talked with a few people, and one of the big racing and tuning guys on Audiworld had this to say:
"First off this was done on a dynamics dyno which is 30-36% loss to the wheels. I guess it helps if you research the dyno before you run on it. So the fact is that your making much more power then you think. Just go look at all the other cars that run on this type of dyno. This is the lowest reading type of dyno you can run on and has been proven by magazines and the company that makes it.
A friend of my dyno'd in the low 300's on a dynamic and 350's on one that was equal to a dynojet. Sounds like he is trying to use a 20% driveline loss when in fact this dyno has been tested to show much lower readings at the wheels in AWD mode. Even in the country this dyno comes from, they all use about a 36% loss which would put you at 209 hp at the crank. Now if they just use your 160 tq reading, that would put your tq at 250 at the flywheel. Does this look correct to you?"
It looks like the calculations the dynamics dyno makes for AWD are slightly different than some of the calculations I've been used to - I'm going to run the car on a DynaPack and see if my approximations come closer to what I was expecting. Guys with similar setups ran ~ 170whp and ~195wtq on the DynaPack - then I'll really know if my car is having probs.
That being said, Yarrow mentioned he wish I'd brought the MC, so he had a baseline for that, LOL.

Important!
Looks like anyone who purchased a service manual at the dyno day was overcharged $3.07. If you wish to be credited this overage please contact Yarrowsport at 401-461-9333.
Also... I would like to post everyone's dynograph on oceanstatemini.com but I will need the last 6 digits of your VIN to get them. If you wouldn't mind having your dynograph posted please send me a PM or email. All I need is the last 6 digits of your VIN and please list you mods.
Thanks

Having trouble with OSM for some reason. Anyway the last six digits of my VIN are D88091. My car was the all pepper white MCS. The engine mods are as follows; Alta CAI, Alta 15% pulley, Milltek cat back exhaust and a Webb Motorsport custom Unichip v5 (tuned specifically for the aformentioned mods). Let me know if you need anything else! My e-mail is williamscfp@verizon.net. Will the results be posted on NAM or Mini2 as well?
Cheers,
