Ocean State MINI Club presents: The Haunted MINI Rally

When: October 23
Time: 6:00 pm
Where: We’re not telling…the only information you will receive
before the night of the rally…is where it will begin... where it will end…
how many miles… and the estimated time.
Meeting at: Yarrowsport, Thurston St to the end, Providence, RI 02907
Ending at: Yarrowsport
Registration Fee: $10.00 per MINI (All registrations must be in by October 17th)
Shirts: $15.00 each

This event will take place around sunset. The rally will contain lots of
great spooky roads that some say are haunted. There will also be a few
stops at some well known haunted spots. Where are those spots?... were not
telling!

Come up with a good costume for you and your MINI and grab the crosses and
holy water because the MINIs are ghost hunting!


Pre-Registration is required. To attend this event you must fill out the
online registration form. Registrations will not be accepted after Oct. 17.
The cost of registration is $10.00 per MINI. Shirts are an additional
$15.00 each. All monies will be collected at the start of the event.

No problem... I will be making an online registration form so I can get email addresses from everyone. When there are updates I will send out an email as well as post on all the forums.

FYI…the poll to choose the day of the haunted mini rally closes on July 31st…exactly what the rally entails will be determined by how many people express an interest….so anybody that has not casted a vote, or posted a message please do so if you are interested…no one has to commit..just let us know that you want to be there…

If Toastie's in, I'm in! I couldn't see any way to cast a vote on the oceanstatemini site (very nice, by the way!), but I prefer 10/23 since I'm guessing (optimistically) that I'll have a local Halloween party or two to attend on the 30th.

 

Very happy:smile: to see that there is an interest for this event. Based on the research we have done so far there will be some very freaky and spooky places to visit.

Spread the word and if you would like a Haunted MINIs sig I will be more than happy to send you one.

I've been watching this thread for awhile now, and now that the date has been voted on, the wife and I are interested, so...

as time draws near we will be more definitive. the wife has a dog show in Providence to attend around then so we'll check the calendar.

 

We have a guide! His name is Rory Raven, he does a local ghost walk in Providence. He knows quite a bit about the haunted happenings of New England. He is very excited to be involved in such a unique event.
I will need a volunteer MINI driver to be his chariot in the darkness... PM me if your interested.

I would like to know how many people would be interested in t-shirts?

Finally, there will be prizes for costumes (People costumes and MINI costumes) so start thinking of something good. Costumes are optional.

A few choices for a place to stay:

Days Inn - Cranston
Motel 6 - Warwick
Fairfield Inn - Warwick
Holiday Inn - Warwick
Crowne Plaza $$$ - Warwick

These are just some I saw online that had good rates. You can stay any where in RI, or seekonk and Attleboro Massachusetts and you will be close to everything. So shop around... if you want to know about a particular place just ask.

Out of the list my first choice would be Days Inn. It's across the street from a nice shopping center and it has a Panera Bread in front of it. My second choice would be Motel 6... best price but it is a trucker stop. Both are close to the highway but Motel 6 is practically on it.

Whats the deal with radios? I don't have one (except the one in my MINI) Do I need to get one and if so what kind?

 

We use the two way radios to talk while driving. It's so fun to listen to everyone... I would say if you plan on attending many events you should get some. They will run you 30.00 to 50.00. We will have extras there.

 

Color me intrigued. If i don't back out from insecurity and newbie disease that is- my mini only comes in next week- I'm all excited about joining in!

 

Ocean State MINI is offering a chance for one MINI owner to come out and
join us on a prerun! Remember the route and locations to this event are
secret. The winner of the contest will be the only person to know the
route before the big day.

The contest consists of 10 questions. The first person to answer all the
questions correctly will win. Simple? Maybe.
