anyone up for a grand tour? Sue and I take a ride in April (not sure which day) usually going out alongf the shouth shore.. Ocean Parkway, Montauk Hwy, South Country Road then up thru Noyack, then across Shelter Island, then quick out to Orient and then back along Sound Ave and 25a..

it is an all day affair.. and I'm thinking of early start either here in Freeport or in Baldwin and then ending up in Westbury/Carle Place (like at Cozymel's or something)

anyone up for it??

update... ok.. i';ve gone nuts and decided to go in reverse... going to go along the north first.. and then com back on teh south.. (which is contrary to what Ive done for years... )

plus i'm planning on hopping out to Captree tomorrow AM (I'll have my motorola talkabout for ch 7) and seeing the route past that way..

also.. considering going backwards.. out the north route and back via the south route...

April is a busy month for autocrossing, but if it's on an off weekend, I'll be there. Its been a while since I made it to a meet.

 

April is good. Hopefully by then, I'll be done with all of my high school obligations and will know what college I'm going to already. March is going to be the craziest month of my life...

I would really LOVE to do this in April!!! Pleeease lets get this thing together!! :smile:

 

well.. I'ld like to do another test run this sunday... (did a partial one last sunday...)
dont know how far out I'll get this time... maybe just along the north.. but I'm aiming for April.. most likely April 25th.. since the 4th is right before Pesach.. the 11th (when Sue and i usually go) is Easter and Pesach,
the 18th is the NYC thing...
which leaves the 25th

we usually go up on mem day and labor day... not sure if i will be able to do MOT..
but drove up to the top on july 5th last year...with the folkes in the car.. (and their handicap parking sticker/hanger) which let me park where the buses do... so THAt was really cool!

besides.. I've driven up Mt Wash. like 4 times .. and have been up on the top.. like..almost 10 times total (even took the cog once!)
you guys want fun??? try taking Mt Clinton Road and Jefferson Notch Road and see what fun really is!!
or Sandwich Notch Road...

April 25 is perfect! Autox on Saturday, MINI drive on Sunday! Sounds like a perfect weekend to me.

that's after Pesach, After Easter and After taxes.

Still dont know if we will pass the Sphinx.. nor where we will stop on the last part... but we are working on it.. (ok.. i am working on it...)

This way I can keep track of exactly how many we will have! I still have to work on the route on the south shore.. and we will be doing another test run on Easter Sunday. (we meaning Sue and I)
