New England MINI Owners Want To Get Your Car Tuned
New England MINI Owners Want To Get Your Car Tuned
Jan Brueggenn (RMW Tuning), based in California, is reckoned to be one of the best MINI tuners. He was last in this area in May for a 3 day tuning event at Swift Motorsports in Norwich, CT. I understand he may be thinking of holding another event in the Boston, MA area.
In May, the tuning prices were:
R53: $350.00 plus DYNO fee
R56: $600.00 Plus DYNO fee
The DYNO fee was around $100.00.
I stress that the above prices were the May prices and therefore they could be different the next time. I have included them here to give an indication of the ballpark cost.
If you would like to get your car tuned by Jan in the Boston area, please post a reply.
If there is sufficient interest in getting a tune I will contact Jan to see what can be arranged. No promises at this stage - just an idea.

Think R56 tune has come down a bit but not sure.
R53 owners if you got a pulley already a tune is a must!!
R56 owners check the many threads on NAM about the impressive gains with just a RMW tune!!

I might be interested in a retune by Jan. After the Norwich tune session 2 months ago, I upgraded my header, and had some exhaust work done.
I believe if you're going back to Jan for an updated tune, the cost is much less, correct?

Not sure where you live, but if you need someone to install the pulley then Pete at Greasy's Garage is a great bet - tons of experience with MINIs

Thanks for the tip though...in case I win Powerball
I've already got several people in the Boston area intersted, so it would be great if you could drive up. As it stands right now I don't have enough interested to make the event happen, but it has only been posted for a few days.
I'm not modded up enough to warrant a tune, but I'm still having some tune envy here.
As an aside, where on MMC did you post this? I'm on that site regularly and don't recall seeing anything. I'd be surprised if you couldn't line up a few more MMCers, despite Jan's recent appearance down in CT.

I wouldn't worry too much about your car not being modded! From what I've read, Jan can pull power out of stock like it's no ones business. And every remote generic tune you need thereafter is something like 50 dollars (don't quote me on that, I'm going off of my bad memory). So if you get the tune on stock to hold you over, you can remotely get a generic tune for all the mods you get in the future. Then next time he comes around, you can get dyno tuned.

The event on MMC is posted under 'Ideas for Shindigs' (for those non MMCers, a shindig is an event). The thread also includes a poll, so you can cast your vote. Here is the link:

Dates have not been decided. If there are enough people interested, then I will have to contact Jan and work around his availability.
