Both dates are fine to me, though I think MININY might get a little lost during Oktoberfest (beer can lure people astray), and other non-Mini's being around, not a good occasion to launch a club. As a social, do your own thing gathering, October 7th would be great, but not so much as a 1st meeting place (IMHO). I LOOOOVE the MiniNY logo with the city scape (1st rendering, not so much the combo of the two) and I'd vote for that one (you rock, swizzle! ). Just let me know and give directions and watch for the BRG/BLK 06 S. Looking forward to meeting NYC Minis -- FINALLY!

 

i can probably make it on the 23rd and im def available for the 7th, im a teen i dont plan anythin more then two or three days in advance unless it has to do with my MCS

 

i agree oktoberfest is not the place to plan a club but it would be great as a meet and greet event. it would give everyone a chance to get to know each other.

there are several lookouts and the gas station in the middle of the parkway up by exit 5 or 6.

Way back in 02 there was a NYC Mini club formed, initially as a Yahoo group (ugh) - it eventually evolved into www.nemini.org which is pretty active with hundreds of active members...

 

I realize what NEMINI is and I've gone to a couple of their events. BUT like a mentioned in the 1st post of this thread, and just reconfirmed by clicking on the link, is that while the club may include this region for members, there are not many events being held in the area.

I looked at the calender for the next two months, and events are primarily out on the island, PA, CT and further north...

This is going to be more city specific. Obviously traveling elsewhere, but none the less, starting from the general vicinity of the 5 boros. But of course Mini owners from anywhere are more than welcome. As far as I know, there are people from the island and CT coming in for the ride.

 

so it looks like me and the other cars from the island will be meeting the rest of you on the palisades parkway around exit 5

I'm in, but what time? Also, I'm on the UWS, so I'm really, really close to GW - if anyone wants to meet up and go "together", let me know. I must admit, I have a TERRIBLE SENSE OF DIRECTION as I did most of my adult driving in BOSTON. I'm sure I'll see a slew of MINIs on the way, but directions (specific) are definitely required here!

I'm down for meeting before hand. I'm pretty sure I know how to get there. NOW since we know the day and the place we need the TIME. presumably in the AM?

 

the event starts at 12 so i was thinking we should shoot for getting there at 1pm
