I can't think of too many places in manhattan where there is a big space to gather initially, but that all depends on how many of us there are...

I just can't believe that after this long, nothing too serious has been started in the city. I really want this be HUGE because there are sooo many driving around. I just have to start thinkiung of other ways to reach those people that aren't on NAM.

I'm going to try to pm everyone who replied to this post later today so we can work on details of meeting up at some point. I don't think everyone is activly checking the thread but I've added everyone to my buddylist already.

Anyways, WHERE we meet is still open for discussion. this is obviously not a dictatorship . The suggestions that I've gotten so far is somewhere off of the BQE which is Brooklyn or Queens, and then someone else said downtown somewhere... presumably Manhattan..

Seriously, your first meeting should be somewhere kind of isolated with a big parking lot and a hall/room where you could meet to organize and collect names etc. This doesn't have to be a long ordeal but it should happen... Anyone thought to ask MINI of Mahnattan if they could lend a room/space?

The idea hadn't occured to me, but i have a few contacts over there becuase I work only about 10 blocks away and I've brought several of my friends over there to purchase their MINIs. BUT.. the dealer is closed on sundays..

i would love to meet ya'll in the city but, that will never happen. anyone that has seen the Mini will understand. so, hopefully ya'll can make it to the Bear mtn. event. i know its not inside the city but, its a great spot to meet, huge parking lot, beer, food, odd looking upstate people etc.
maybe, if ya'll decide to go, someone can arrange a meet spot off the west side hwy and we can motor on up to Bear mtn. oh, even better, a meet at the first scenic view spot on the palisades pkwy....then a smooth ride up the palisades.

just a thought.

I think this sounds like a really good idea. The date and where to meet up before we head up is still to be determined. I still would like to do it the 23rd. and since this would primarily be happening during the day, all the people who have to work (myself included) on Monday should be able to home with enough time for pleanty of sleep

I can't really think of any "lots" or other large areas along the west side to conviene except for maybe in front of the old Meat Market right below 14th st. (the idea just occured to me as I was typing this haha) I think that place should be able to serve our purposes well. And if we time the lights properly, we shgoud also be able to get most of us out at the same time because of the way that intersection is set up....

Any thoughts??

 

MINI of Manhattan is a kinda tightly packed dealer but ill talk to my MA about it cause hes also the owner :D shhh nobodys supposed to know
