BAM! (Boston Area MINIs)

So, as its been pointed out by many of us Boston area MINI owners, there is no group/ club for us. Until now! Consider this the first post in the BAM! Club. We can work this just like all the other clubs out there (ie: assign numbers, make a cool badge, organize get-togethers, and the like). Spread the word, and get as many people as you can to join, and make this HUGE

oh, and LET'S GO RED SOX!!!

Whatever, I was just throwing the idea out there. Seems like there's alot of MINIs in Boston, I figured people would be interested. Oh well...

I wouldn;t be discouraged....Get together with the MOB and merge forces....the more motivated people there are in a club the better it is....kinda like captian Planet...

I'm all for it, but I'd encourage everyone to not get too bogged down with titles and bureaucracies. Keep with one of the two existing mega-forums (NAM or MINI2) to keep folks from having to check multiple websites. Embrace openness: don't pigeonhole the participants so that it becomes an "us vs. them" kind of thing.

I would really recommend doing the club chatter thing on MINI2; I think most of the NY/NER stuff happens there, with a relatively small showing of folks on NAM (absolutely not a condemnation of any person or community, that's just the way things have traditionally been).

I live in Nashua, which is practically the new North End, so I'm definitely in.

forget it...

well, I thought I had a good idea, but apparently it wasn't even my idea. I just found out that there was a (failed) BAM! group on MINI2. So I officially say "forget it". Let me know if anyone gets a Boston MINI club off the ground... I'd like to join.

My opinion, which doesn't count for a whole lot since I'm 3+ hours from Boston - but I do know many of the Boston area folks...

Don't bother with a "club". Pick a date and a location, let people know both here and on mini2, and people will show up. That's how the New England folks have been operating thus far for the most part.

I mean, you could make up a club name / logo / etc if you want... but really all you need to do is say "On this day, how about we go the location X, drive around a bit, then get some food?" and you'll have people show up.

any interested parties can hop on over to MINI2 and check out MOB, the new Boston based group. Sounds like it is going to turn out quite well, with events already planned.

It'd be nice if everyone were on one forum (or even *egads!* a mailing list) but that's just not the way it works. All the New England momentum is on MINI2.

I'm definitly more established on NAM, but having a MINI2 account just adds another reference for me to learn from!
