I'm going to driving school!! Sunday August 24th for the Phase 1 course. Anyone in the NY area want to join me?

Here's a copy of the email with the info:

Thanks for showing interest in the August 23rd and 24th Evolution Schools, to be held at Nassau Coliseum. Our plan is to have a Phase 1 and 2 on Saturday, and a Phase 1 and Challenge School on Sunday. The Phase 1 gives you all the tools to go fast, the Phase 2 gets you mentally prepared for courses, and the Challenge School takes all of the information from all of the schools and puts it all together in one longer, more National like course. If you have any questions about any of the Phases, please check out the Evolution Performance Driving School website at, http://www.autocross.com/evolution.

The Evolution Schools will be filled on a first come first serve basis. This means the first people to get their checks in to me will have priority. There will be 12 spots available for Phase 1 schools, 14 spots for the Phase 2, and 10 spots for the Challenge School. We will be taking care of your lunch. If you have any special needs just let me know. The costs of the schools, has gone up slightly this year. The cost for the Phase 1 and 2 is $225 each, and the cost of the Challenge school is $240. Checks may be made payable to:

Mike Johnson
10 Franklin Pl.
Rutherford NJ 07070

If you have any questions just let me know. fstockracers@mindspring.com, or you may call me at (551) 265-3964. If I do not answer, please leave a message. More info will be sent out to the participants, as we get closer to the event.

Thanks again,
Mike Johnson

Thanks for the info Harmini...was wondering on the price. Is it an all day thing? In any event, it is quite a bit cheaper than doing the Skip Barber type deals. Gonna check my calendar and see...will try and take off Monday so I can utilize my new skils as a Jedi novice (sorry...geek alert )

I would love to go but at $225 each that would come to Almost a grand... I wish I could do just one. Also I have a CVT so I doubt it would matter.

I'm just going to do Phase One for $225...and I think there are some CVT's doing autocross (you could check on the other forum) I really want to learn better cornering and braking techniques.

Anthony, I'm only doing Phase 1 ($225). As you know, I have the CVT also, but with autocross there's not much shifting even in a manual. The other 3 inputs (brake, throttle and steering) are what you'll get lessons in. Come on, go to driving school with us, afterall, you paid almost this much for your new Oakleys and what you'll get out of it will last a lifetime, unlike your sunglasses which will only be good until you sit on them
