Anyone take Delivery with NAV?

Has anyone taken delivery of a car with the NAV specced? I am currently in week 13 of production so it will be awhile for me, but I was wondering if anyone stateside has the NAV. How about dealers? I know there were some problems in the UK and there was a rumor there would be some fixes when they released it here. Any news? thanks in advance.

I don't think it is available yet.....although someone in NJ just got an Oxygen Blue Cooper delivered and I didn't think that this was available yet either...

All the Week 10s with SatNav are just getting to VDCs now. I think you'll see an explosion of posts about it in the next week.

My Week 10 SatNav is currently 1/2 way across the Atlantic...

My MINI w/ NAV will be at the dealers on Monday. I won't be able to take delivery of the car until Wednesday, so stay tune for pics.

It seems that the Brits were involuntarily beta testing the Nav. Some of the major complains were about not having split-screen with map and arrows. The specs for the USA version says it has split-screen with map and arrows. Hopefully, other aspects of the software interface have been polished as well.

aznqtboy984,
After you take delivery of your NAV system would you mind posting pdf files of the instruction manual? I have been looking for the manual online and can not find it.
Thanks.

Almost...

Like others who have posted here, I too am waiting for the arrival of my MC
w/NAV. Scheduled to arrive on 4/3 and will take delivery I suspect within
2 weeks following.

It is my understanding that US Mini's w/GPS were not available for order until
March. So like someone else posted here you'll probably see an explosion of
posts on the topic come April.

In the interim, I've posted a pic of the iDrive screen in my E60's shown here
in the BlueTooth mode - screens can be switched (i.e. map can show on
larger left side while arrow prompts show on smaller right side.) I've "heard"
the Mini GPS system is the same (or very similar) to the current system used
in BMW. However you'll notice in the below pic the BMW screen is about 1.5
times wider than a regular GPS screen. I don't think the Mini center speedo
area will accomodate a screen this wide.

Did the pix show?

Oh btw, my MA said there is a split screen function. I didn't have time to play with the NAV.

Based upon the fact that this information is supplied in the previous generation Nav, I would be VERY surprised if the new one didn't also report estimated time to arrival also!

I think the most important thing we need to know about the Sat Nav when the week 10ers get their cars is if it has a British accent Here's hoping it does!!!

Edge,
per mini2 the NAV did not have that info available on the primary screen. you had to go hunting through screens for it. and thats a good point does it have a british accent?

You mean in the R56, right? If so, I think that's a terrible design change!

The 1st Generation factory NAV shows time to destination in the bottom right corner at all times (provided you of course have actually input a destination, not just in regular map mode).

My Nav'd Mini will arrive in early June. I have to believe it will have all the functions of the current nav, plus new ones. Can't wait for the reviews as the first ones arrive.

Also, will the map DVDs from my current Nav work in the new one? (or is it a new type of data disk?)

Jerry

Picking up my MCS w/NAV on Tuesday. Just wondering if the NAV has bluetooth built in as a standard feature (I didn't order the Convenience package or the add-on bluetooth but the sales associate claims it's in there nevertheless). Can you confirm/disconfirm?

On MINI2, someone in the UK complained about difficulty understanding the American accent, so it appears not even they have British accent yet.
